We were staying in near the lighthouse and decided to take a walk to this restaurant and have a change from the restaurants around that area. La Proa was actually a refreshing change - they have clearly been doing what they are doing for a good long time and yes it does have a very traditional feel but the food was good, the prices very reasonable and the service very friendly and personable. Will definitely go back again.

Just returned from a week in Gran Canaria and returned once again to La Proa in Meloneras. Just a good as last time. Can recommend the Lamb Cutlets and the John Dory Fish is also by nice. Plenty of choice. Great value. Don't be fooled if the restaurant is quiet in the evenings. These restaurant are affected by the " all inclusive" hotels near by.

Our family went there 2 times for dinner. The place is very nice, the end at the beach, we loved it. The staff was incredibly nice and welcoming, expecialy with kids. A food was so good, gambas al ajillo were one of best we have had, and sole was tasty also. And ron miel on the house at the end was nice dot on i!

What a great find ! Wish we had come earlier in our holiday. Lovely helpful and fun staff who wanted us to have a great evening. A great menu to choose from and very good value too. We three had the Fish and Shellfish Paella which was very good. Would also recommend the Polvito Canario dessert, delicious !

We visited La Proa two times during our trip and both were excellent. During the first visit we tried (shared) two different fresh fish and on the second visit the mixed paella dish for two. The food and the service was excellent!

On top the home made Polvito Canario is one of the best desserts we've ever had. If you like Tiramisu then you'll love this.
