Although you are probably less likely to see Tigers in Satpura than in some of the other national parks, there are plenty of plusses. You will only see another half a dozen to ten vehicles so no mass circling of the wildlife. You do have a better chance of seeing Wild Dog, Sloth Bear and Leopard here and the birdlife is also very good. I'd also recommend a canoe trip along the river.

Wonderful Experience. Those who want to explore satpura mountains must visit Satpura National Park. Peaceful place and mostly unexplored. Forest officers and guide behaviour was very good and cooperative.

We opted for the Madhai gate for the safari, which is one of the most popular. After obtaining the necessary permits, the guide takes you across the Tawa reservoir by boat to access the core area by gypsy on the other side. The forest is quite dense and hence spotting (especially predators) is quite difficult. It appears summer months are far more better for the sightings. However, there are large varieties of birds and animals such as gaur, deer, sambhar, boar etc., which can be seen easily.

Must say that this is one really beautiful Forest, green, with rivulets, Undulating Terrain which make the gypsy travel amazing, great sightseeing and an interesting addition of being taken by a ferry to the entry gate and back.

A great place for encounter with the wild!!!

I stayed in Bison resort in Satpura tiger reserve for a couple of days. It is a well maintained resort with nice staff. Good place to cut off from the world and relax ad you won’t even get mobile network there. I enjoyed and relaxed at the place with family and friends. Good vegetarian food too. They also make camp fires at night. The non-veg food is not so great and the safari costs are high.
