This Museum has a really nice architecture - that will be the first you will see. It is about the author Hamsun and you have letters as well as other documented material about him on different Levels of the Museum. The staff is very friendly and downstairs you can take a break and drink a coffee and eat some cake if you want. it is really nice and I would recommend a visit at Hamsunsenteret.

The Hamsundsenter is covering almost all aspects of the Nobellaureates life and doings, not trying to hide the not so glamorous aspects (the nazi sympaties) but also trying to show the human behind the fasade. Absolutely a place to visit.

This museum building is spectacular seen from the outside. It blends nicely in with the Nordland-nature and is an architectural treasure. Every floor has exhibitions dedicated to different parts of Hamsun's life, and it is organized in a very instructive way. It is very interesting! In addition we attended a guided tour that focussed on Hamsun's most influential pieces. Our guide was very knowledgeable and interesting. I would definitively recommend a stop at this museum if you visiting Nordland.

Love this place. You can walk along for hours and days and never be bored. You can feel him,, and Marie. You get to know them personally. And the house looks like him. Funny. This place is a must. Run for it.

This is a very informative museum dedicated to the life and works of the great and controversial norwegian writer Knut Hamsun.

The museum building is alone worth the trip. It is a fantastic building designed by Steven Holl, and it adds a lot to the experience.

It is very interesting to visit both this museum and Hamsuns childhood home. The contrast between this contemporary building and the very mundane building were Hamsun lived for around 10 years in his childhood is food for thought.
