New Chef, new menu, Highly recommend, tasty, value for money, relaxing atmosphere. Its a must to go, one can enjoy a dinner at the casino, friendly staff, young and really motivated and passionate for their work. Customer service is their priority, and the staff make sure that you enjoy your experience-from the minute you enter the restaurant until you leave.
I visited The Casino at Portomaso this evening. I was disappointed to see how run down it has become. Dirty coffee cups, glasses, full ashtrays and paper bags around all the slot machines. It looks like it has not been cleaned for some time. Carpets need a good vacuuming. What a pity!
Played my first poker here many years ago and this is the best casino in Malta for poker, its a great building, well laid out, not as elegant as another nearby casino, but the poker here is spot on, the games are run well, the service is excellent.
If you visit one Casino in Malta make it this one.....
This casino used to a nice place to go - more upmarket than the Dragonara and with a restaurant as well. Now it's in a shocking state - very dingy, dark and grubby. The carpets are filthy and the white plastic chairs are split and in need of reupholstering. The restaurant has gone as well. There are a lot of building works in St Julian's and the Portomaso cafe next door has been demolished. Perhaps the casino is going the same way.
It looks like it's changed hands yet again so maybe the new owners have plans to refurbish it. Unsurprisingly there were very few people there and only one roulette table open which made the whole experience even more depressing.
Drinks are expensive and u can't start a tab or get free drinks while playing, which stinks. Nice surroundings and done up very nice in the busy area of Bugibba/St. Julian's
Yesterday we went to Portomaso Casino and it turned out to be a really pleasant experience. The casino has an adjoining parking place which is a really big plus for a Paceville (the city where this casino is located) on a Saturday evening. On entering the place you are greeted at the reception desk as is customary at Maltese Casinos and from there you proceed to either the gaming centre or to the restaurant.
This is not the first time we visited this restaurant but this time the quality of food and service exceeded out expectations. Having choosen our food (calamari for me and steak for my wife) we were presented with some freshly baked bread which was really good. Both the starters and main courses were delicious and abundant. So much so that we couldn't really eat everything. The staff were great and service really good. Both the food and the wine menus, although not very extensive, contained a good variety which should satisfy most diners.
