We have just had a week at the Hyatt Regency. We have to say that the hotel is super and the staff brilliant. A special mention to Nevena Djuric who took us under her wing as first time visitors and looked after us so well. Thank you Nevena.
Highly recommend the Hyatt.

Bed covers and mattress were of high quality. Staff attentiveness to detail and assistance could not have been better. Prime hotel location provided great shopping, dinning, movies and more... knowledge of important landmarks helped us during our trip.. We will return to this Hyatt Hotel on our next trip to Malta.

Unfortunately we didn’t have the best experience here

There were ongoing water issues meaning the water supply was completely switched off for large portions of time across three consecutive days of our stay. In understand that issues occur, and are often unavoidable, but the hotel’s reaction to these issues is within the staff’s control: we were not told about the water issues as they were happening, only finding out about them when trying to use the shower/sink/lavatory(!) and finding there was no water available… There were no signs to inform guests about what was going on and the lobby staff were not actively briefing arriving/returning guests on what was occurring.

We were initially told the issues would be fixed within “a couple of hours” but they lasted across three days. We were not offered any compensation or remittance until I quite vocally complained at reception. One night was eventually refunded to our card.

As others have noted, there is significant construction going on around the hotel on all sides. The access road is also extremely steep and pedestrian access is limited - anyone with even minor mobility issues will really struggle.

The hotel is located in a less-than-salubrious area that is not befitting its pretension to be a 5* hotel. It is not really 5* at all, rather a 4 star hotel with some extra boxes ticked to cynically earn a higher reward. Things like the toiletries screwed into the bathroom wall felt cheap.

Positives are the immaculate cleanliness and modern feel of all rooms. Our room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. Air con and heating system worked well without issues.

Can’t in good conscience recommend a stay here.

Stayed at this hotel for three nights in January, so in very low season. Rate was very attractive and location is also good, close to the see and in the midst of tourist area St Julians. Upon arrival to the hotel (around 12 noon) we were informed that room is ready, which we appreciated, and that we were upgraded (as WoH Globalists) into junior suite (really just a large room with huge entry corridor, but not real suite). While hotel had Regency suites available for sale during our dates, they choose not to upgrade us. There were extensive construction works just next to the hotel, basically in the same building, but there is nothing about that on the hotel webpage, in welcome mail or in the Hyatt app - lots of noises from drilling from 7am onward, which we did not appreciate, quite bothersome. Hotel should disclose such activity beforehand, its common good business praxis. Staff at the hotel was very friendly, service was ok, although not always consistent (one day we were offered drinks at the breakfast, next day again not). The biggest letdown, beside the noise, is Regency Club, that is just a big room in the basement, with very poor offerings of drinks and even poorer of foods.

Perfect stay!

We could not ask more from the staff at Hyatt Regency Malta. The hotel is very beautiful and stylish, the room large and comfortable and the restaurants are really nice, serving good food.

What made the stay really extra lovely were the people working there. All staff, whether it was at the reception, at the restaurant, at the bar or out in the lobby, were all professional and helpful.

A great stay in occasion of NEW YEAR'S EVE really. We even booked the dinner party at the hotel. Good menu and really nice live music by performer Lisa Gauci. Great dj for the after party at the roof top bar.

I can only imagine how great the summertime is at this hotel, perfectly situated at St Julian's.

We stayed in this hotel during a short stay in Malta. Although the location is not the best (St. Julian's is not a very nice place compared to others, in my opinion), the hotel has largely met all our expectations for accommodation of this category. The rooms are spacious and adequately clean (we stayed on the 8th floor), the breakfast is very varied and of excellent quality both for savoury and sweet foods. The staff is very courteous and always ready to satisfy every request, as far as possible. The swimming pool on the top floor is very scenic, even if we did not use it given the not very high temperatures in January (however the water is heated); but it was not a problem, as there is another one on the lower floors (also heated). The free parking offered right under the hotel is very convenient (it is a public parking, in the hotel they give you a ticket to exit).
Two points to improve, in my opinion: the first is that the minibar in the room is empty, I would have preferred it to be full with a price list for drinks; It would be very convenient when the bar downstairs is closed (closes at 11pm). The second is that the spa area is very small, with a limited-sized sauna and ice room.
