We use Strathclyde CMC site as it is close to family. And there are many positives. It's close to Glasgow and there is a minibus service to the city from the site. You can buy newspapers and essentials from the site shop. The site is medium sized but has dedicated pitches for those with disabilities near one of the immaculately clean toilet blocks. There is a Toby Carvery within walking distance, where food is well priced and the staff very pleasant.

We didn't bring children, but there is a nice play area for them and it is near the McD theme park.

On the down side, ongoing road works make this a very noisy site. Some of the wardens seem nice, but the lady who booked us in was clearly not at all interested in helping new arrivals nor in her job in general.

We were warned about the speed limit on site to keep children safe, but their parents had clearly not been told that the little darlings should abide by the one way system causing several (slow moving) cars to brake as they encountered them riding the wrong way.

We will go back as it's handy for family, but would also explore alternatives

Ideally placed for visiting Glasgow. Bus from site or train from Bellshill Railway station. Great walks, cycling around Strathclyde Country Park. Wardens really friendly. Pitches large, toilet block really clean. There is road noise, but to be expected due to its location. Easy access to the site off M74 now the roadworks have been completed

I was highly impressed by the cleanliness and neatness of the site the toilet blocks were superb and plenty of floral displays look fabulous. The road next door is loud but was anticipated as campsite do a great job of warning people beforehand. All in all a great site I highly recommend.
