Travnik forteress is worth visiting, the view is superb and the small museum gives some interesting insights. We didn't really appreciate the over-crowded, plastic commercial river walk, but we can recommend a walk downtown in the evening when it is car-free and local people sit in bars and cafés in a really friendly atmosphere. If you have a car, you should also make the ride to Babanovac along the mountain meadows and spectacular views.

STARI GRAD in TRAVNIK is one of the main old forts in the area. You may enter the fort after paying a ticket of 2 marks per adult. It has beautiful view of the surroundings, small museum and a small weaving place , where you can buy some artifacts. There is a small café on top as well, where you can spend some time sipping a coffee or a juice or having ice cream.

The view here is wonderful with all the green, the etnographic museum inside is inadequate but the fortress itself is wonderful. I think you should visit this place if you want to capture good photos of the city and its nature.

This fort is located in Travnik just on the way to Sarajevo. It was an easy climb up, but still, be mindful of your steps as the path is stony. Once you reach the top, the amazing view will definitely take your breath away. There is a small exhibition which showcases brief history of the area.

Just love the Ottoman Fort in Travnik on the way to Sarajevo, not too challenging a climb, though stony, and you get a terrific view of the town with distinctive Ottoman-style houses, minarets and the gorgeous countryside. The Ethnographic museum there had interesting artefacts including wooden churns for making cheese and the heavy metal lid for delicious stewed lamb. Weaving of wool carpets and tablecloths is demonstrated by a local lady and you can buy the products. Traditional costumes are also displayed. After all the climbing you may reward yourself with Bosnian coffee, Turkish delight and deep fried dough with cheese at a cafe below next to a stream with ducks. Buy some honey and local produce at the stalls where you park your car.
