The atmosphere in JP Clarke's is relaxed, friendly and informal, while the overall impression is of a pub that is both comfortable and rustic. Bunratty is a great location to meander the day away enjoying fine food and chilled wines and beers, forgetting about the worries and stresses of life.

We went to JP Clarke’s on a recent family break for dinner - the restaurant is fab, spotlessly clean & spacious. The staff were very pleasant, helpful and efficient. The food for our large group was delicious with nice size portions. Our only disappointment was 2 of the mean in our group ordered the steak & prawn - there was a clear difference in the size of the steak (1 very disappointing) & we weren’t overly impressed with how the staff member dealt with our dissatisfaction. This dish in our opinion is disappointing for the price. Other than that all other meals were very tasty & we would still recommend a meal here.

Thank you so much for your lovely review, and sincere apologies that your experience was marred by the steak! I can understand this was very frustrating for you and your family. We do weigh our steaks when they come in to ensure they are least 7 oz. The way in which they are cooked can also make a difference to the size. Were they cooked differently perhaps? I have highlighted the issue with the kitchen, so that they can review the levels of consistency in their dishes going forward. Kind regards, Alexia

We had a lovely family meal on our weekend away. The staff were brilliant, and our waitress was brilliant with the kids. There was a great choice for us and healthy options for the kids which was great. Prices are reasonable and the surrounds were lovely. We had a lovely table and plenty of space. There was no rush. I would recommend this lovely pub/restaurant to anyone passing through Bunratty.

I often use this restaurant and was happy, my last visit not so much. We were seated in the perimeter of the old smoking area. We ordered two burgers while tasty was very small and chips could be counted on two hands with fingers left over.
the wind was howling and the rain was falling. While waiting 20 minutes after eating lunch to see desert menu, two guys came out to set another table and chided me for vaping in the wind and to go out in the rain. People that dine outdoors are entitled to the same service as those indoors. With the price we paid for mains and deserts, maybe you could purchase a few no smoking signs for an outdoor dining area.
Ps, our waitress was a pleasant girl.

Hi Tim, thank you for your feedback, it is always appreciated when coming from a regular. I'm sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your last visit.

Our burgers are 7 ounces, which equates to nearly a half pound of burger! That's two quarter pounders (the standard burger size) on top of each other! We do not pile the dish with chips as we feel it is satisfying as it is - in saying that if you do ever feel your dish is unsatisfactory do please tell your server straight away so we can rectify it.

In regards to the vaping, understandably it is not ideal to smoke in the bad weather, but now with more people wishing to eat outside due to current restrictions, we don't allow smoking/vaping at the tables during dining hours, and that is including indoors. Thank you for your suggestion for more No Smoking signs, we will follow that up as soon as possible for extra clarity.

Kind Regards, Alexia

My famaily and I were in Jp Clark's which is a beautiful little pub situated in central Bunratty. We were greeted at the door and sat outside for lunch. The food was amazing but the highlight of our trip was our crazy little waitress named rebecca. She ensured we had everything we needed and was very chatty and offered to cut my husbands food up small for him when he started coughing at the table, which was priceless. This added a very personal touch to our meal and I would recommend this place to anyone passing through bunratty.
