The main beach in Kilkee has a horse-shoe shape, which means that it is very safe for children, further west of the beach, the toddlers were preoccupied fishing in the little rock pools, coaxing 'pinkies'.. tiny fish and crabs into their little fishing nets! On the east of the main beach, you can see 'Georg's head' ( a protruding cliff, which acquired it's name from English King George, it resembled King Georg's profile!

One of the nicest beaches I've ever been on - waves come in circular - like ripples from throwing a stone - gently sloping, great views, plenty of amenities

What a lovely beach which is postcard quality. It's beautiful lovely views, would be perfect for drawing. The only let down is so much dog poo.Come on the people of Kilkee clean up after your dogs you live in such a special place, don't understand why !!!!

We decided to stop at Blue Flag Beach as we were passing by. It was a chilly October afternoon but well worth the stop. We actually drove right onto the beach which reminded us a bit of Daytona Beach in Florida. It was fairly deserted and we took a bit of a stroll but did not stay to long as it was a windy and chilly day. As a side note, there were no facilities open at the time.

Its been 5 months since the Beach Closure was implemented. Access tobthe beach and swimming is the major attraction of Kilkee. The town has never had a sewerage system despite the large ibcrease in the number of holudays homes and itger accommodation. All the houses connected to the public sewerage system, their effluent is pumped into the Atlantic Ocean untreated. I going to move along the coast until i find a cleaner place.
