The day after my grandson's wedding to a local lass from Hat Yai, January 2012, the young bride hired a mini-bus and drove the wedding party to the Ton Nga Chang Wildlife Sanctuary some 25 kilometres from town.
The main attraction of this park is the seven tier waterfall. We,the oldies, stayed firm at the lowest level while the young ones braved the climb to the third level. We all had great fun swimming in the cool calm waters of the pool at the first level, surrounded by the jungle appearance of the national park. ( A bit like the Tarzan films of old)
The children of the group enjoyed feeding the schools of large fish in the river at the tail of the falls. The park has a beautiful picnic area where, on the return of the adventures, we had a wonderful meal of local fruits and sweets and, would you believe, tasty spicy local KFC, purchased in Hat Yai before we left for the falls.
There were many happy family groups picnicking. It was a lovely feeling to be among them and to be so welcomed. A wonderful day's outing!
