What a beautiful place! Although only a short distance from Welshpool this hotel/bed and breakfast is on a working farm and surrounded by fields full of sheep with beautiful views from every window. The hotel is in a very old timber framed farmhouse with beamed rooms and a wonder ful large inglenook fireplace in the dining room. I should imagine it would be a cosy spot in Winter! There is apparently a good golf course nearby which my husband would have loved to play!

My double room, although not huge, was very well furnished with good quality bed linen. The ensuite shower room was spotlessly clean and equipped with plenty of fluffy towels and attractive toiletries.

Little touches such as the provision of a hair dryer, free bottled water and a well stocked tea and coffee tray were welcome.

The owner of the hotel could not have been more welcoming and friendly and the breakfast provided was better than I have had in many a 4 or 5* hotel. Fresh juice, yogurts, cereals, porridge plus wonderful full Welsh breakfast and masses of toast with Welsh butter. A perfect way to start the day.

Parking was easy even for someone with a larger sized car. I thoroughly recommend Middle Sylfaen for your stay in this beautiful part of Wales.
