The resort has great potential to receive a greater rating. However, our experience at Kawayan Siargao Resort did not meet the positive reviews from other guests.

When we arrived at the resort, we were escorted to our villa - the hostess said she was new to the resort so couldn't answer any questions of ours (i.e. Wi-Fi connection).

The resort was very pretty - tropical and private. The room was spacious and the bathroom was cool with a semi-outdoor shower.

After we settled in, we went to the resort restaurant for dinner. Lo and behold, we were told that they would not be able to accommodate dinner because they did not have a chef (!!!). So we ended up finding dinner down the road.

We returned to our room after dinner, and to our surprise, walked into the bathroom, and was greeted by a large RAT! Let's just say, from that point on, we did not get much rest. The staff did catch the rat, but we were afraid of another one coming into the bathroom (through the semi-outdoor shower). Our suggestion to the resort is to somehow secure a way to keep rodents out of the bathroom/room if they want to keep the openness of the semi-outdoor shower ambience.

The Wi-Fi connection did not work most of the time during our stay.

We ended up changing our length of stay to two nights and both nights, we experienced more negative experiences than positive (i.e. rodent, poor Wi-Fi, no dining, power outage).

The staff members were very nice and kind.

It is very unlikely that we'll be returning to this resort in the future.

The design of the Kawayan Siagao Resort was so peaceful and quiet. The pool was gorgeous, the entire property was so immaculately kept, the villa was clean, spacious and tidy. The location was great as it was walking distance from the jetty and surf and it was only a short 3min scooter ride into General Luna. The staff were great, the food was excellent, plenty of options, vegetarian as well which was good. The wifi was slow and unreliable and the shower (although beautiful being outdoors) had no pressure whatsoever which I find frustrating.

Only place where I found good bread and they have very clean toilets, already worth a visit when you come from a budget place with the bad sanitary ;) I didn't stay here, so can't tell anything about that

The villa is amazing! Very close to nature and the shower is so cool. Aside from the ambiance the food are so yummy! It is definitely worth staying there plus they have their own bakery that is perfect for breakfast and serve delicious pastries and coffee.!

Love this place. Their food is just amazing. If you're on a long travel journey or just a quick trip this place is worth a visit.

They have sushi night on Fridays with a beautiful plate of all kinds of sushi, their chefs are amazing.

They also have recently opened a patisserie next door to the main restaurant with beautiful croissants. The owners are French and the quality of their food is 10/10.

I tried out the patisserie toward the end of my trip and was annoyed that I hadn't gone there earlier! It just didn't seem busy in there so I assumed it was too expensive but it wasn't!
