A perfect hotel with amazing staf.

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Apr 3, 2022
This hotel was perfect. And I rarely say that. But it is an oasis of kindness, good food, and amazing staff who go out of their way to make sure you are taken care of. It's right on the beach with an infinity edge pool, restaurant, and bar. The rooms are comfortable, clean and have everything you need to enjoy your stay. The hotel is situated around a little green area in the middle that they turn into a seating area at night when they break out the barbeque. And it has a great little surf school right next store that has wonderful trainers for newbies' like me. The best part of this hotel though is Rebecca the manager. She is so amazing she could easily be managing a billion-dollar resort in Las Vegas, but she loves Baler and the Aliyah Resort, so she stays to bring top notch service and lead her staff. Rebecca always made sure I was taken care of. She greeted me every day with a smile, answered all my questions, made any arrangement for any needs I had and always made me feel like I was her only guest even though it was obvious that the hotel was sold out and bustling with activity. This is my home away from home and I can't wait to go back. After traveling across more than sixty countries over the last five years I finally found a place I want to retire and call home. Thanks again Rebecca. I can't wait to come back and visit again.

I very much appreciated that I was able to check in at 5am (free of charge) when my bus arrived in Baler, but beyond that kindness that was shown I have very little positive to say about my 4 day stay at Aliya Surf Hotel. No wifi in room, basic cheap beds, no mirror in bathroom (wtf?). There was a sign next to my door on the 2nd floor that said “Please Observe Silence” and then they had live music blasting until at least 10pm every night (and one night until 11pm). The walls are paper thin. It’s impossible to not be disturbed by that music if you are staying at the hotel and want to sleep early so you can wake up for early surf sessions. This place needs to decide which they are running here: a hotel or a music hall. In my opinion, it’s inconsiderate to try to do both.

I have only stayed once at Aliya but i would not have any second thoughts of staying there again on my next trip to Baler. The very relaxing view of the Pacific Ocean while having breakfast is one reason and the other is the very accomodating and friendly staff at the check in counter. For the price, your stay at Aliya is really what you paid for. Its not much of a five star hotel but you're guaranteed a clean room, clean beddings and linens, hot and cold shower and good working airconditioner. Food and drinks are reasonably priced and if you still want to taste other food, there are other places to drink and dine nearby, meaning, walking distance from the hotel. The hotel also has a group of surf instructors on stand by to teach you the basics of surfing for a fee and if you're good at balancing, you'll be able to surf after an hour. Overall, i'd rate this hotel excellent five and i hope it will syill be the same on my next stay there

I stayed one night with my family of 3 in a 3rd level room with 2 comfortable double beds. The open court design through to the inviting infinity pool & mesmerizing waves along the wide stretch of beach below provides a beautiful ambience by the ocean. In the evening, live music fills the air throughout the place.

Disappointments: high corkage fee for my bottle of white wine (white wine unavailable at resort)

There's a ton of accommodations along Sabang Beach in Baler, and I'm guessing Aliya is one of the better hotels along that strip that won't burn a big hole in your pocket. Nothing special with their rooms, though (they're quite small and could use extra cleaning). Breakfasts by their pool overlooking the Pacific is a great way to start your day in Baler.

I would like to say that i fell in love with the natural beauty of Baler and Aliya Resort facilities are ok but I have observed that during our stay in the resort that staff are willing to satisfy all the customers request but lacks the training and knowledge on how to deal with customers demand. The management of Aliya should invest in educating their staff if they have a desire to improve the customers service. While we were seating in the pool area, some of the guest brought their own radio and was playing the radio as if they own the whole place. In order to avoid confrontation i ask one of the staff member to address the loud playing of radio but they seem hesitant to address the complaint. Staff lacks the management skill to address simple complaints. Customer service could be better.

Room tip: Do not choose the rooms close to the restaurant. There are karaoke nights and band playing at night.Noise can be bothersome.
