Great beach side resort with live music

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Jan 12, 2020
I stayed one night with my family of 3 in a 3rd level room with 2 comfortable double beds. The open court design through to the inviting infinity pool & mesmerizing waves along the wide stretch of beach below provides a beautiful ambience by the ocean. In the evening, live music fills the air throughout the place.

Disappointments: high corkage fee for my bottle of white wine (white wine unavailable at resort)

There's a ton of accommodations along Sabang Beach in Baler, and I'm guessing Aliya is one of the better hotels along that strip that won't burn a big hole in your pocket. Nothing special with their rooms, though (they're quite small and could use extra cleaning). Breakfasts by their pool overlooking the Pacific is a great way to start your day in Baler.

I would like to say that i fell in love with the natural beauty of Baler and Aliya Resort facilities are ok but I have observed that during our stay in the resort that staff are willing to satisfy all the customers request but lacks the training and knowledge on how to deal with customers demand. The management of Aliya should invest in educating their staff if they have a desire to improve the customers service. While we were seating in the pool area, some of the guest brought their own radio and was playing the radio as if they own the whole place. In order to avoid confrontation i ask one of the staff member to address the loud playing of radio but they seem hesitant to address the complaint. Staff lacks the management skill to address simple complaints. Customer service could be better.

Room tip: Do not choose the rooms close to the restaurant. There are karaoke nights and band playing at night.Noise can be bothersome.

    Bad management. Staff need training.
Location is good and easy to find.
Pool was good too, but the staff makes this hotel awful.
If they don't change, They'll definitely lose customers.
The price is a bit high for the headache.

Room tip: get a room from the second floor. it's less noisy.

I opted to take another visit to Baler and decided to make a reservation at this place for the 2nd time, mainly because my parents doesn't want to travel farther than this. Another thing is that, I wanted to see the additions and renovations they've done to the place since 2016. We were able to get a room (the newly added units with balcony) and it was fairly ok; the room came so close to being whoaaa..but missed because of some details that could have helped it become a haven of relaxation and rest. There was a huge wall facing the beds; and that wall stood out bare and naked even with that TV. They could have installed a built in unit or media center unit with drawers that will serve as storage as well instead of the huge secretary's desk that was there (besides, it doesn't match the theme of the room). Another thing that's missing is a seating area. A bench or loveseat at the foot of the bed will be fine and serve the purpose, better yet, put a cafe table so you'll have a spot to sit down while eating or having meryenda.

Next, the bathroom......I appreciate that the whole room is modern in design including the bathroom BUT I have some issues with the bathroom. First off, water from the shower floods the whole bathroom. I don't know why there's a drain hole from the shower area through the main bathroom floor and there's nothing on this side. So the water fills up this space and it's kinda gross. I end up cleaning and drying up the room after each use. Second, no storage space to put our toilet essentials. A simple two layer shelves could have done it or an over-the- toilet etagere to save space. I've attached some photos for design ideas(ctto of the photos) and the original photos of the room we used.

Next on my list is the pool.....It used to be an infinity pool, how come it's not anymore? Please install a designated and proper outdoor shower area, for sanitary purposes. Implement the no tshirt, no Jeans, etc. Swimming pool rules.

Your best assets and saving points are your staff and crew. They were very accommodating and friendly.👌👌👌

Please don't take this review in a negative way. This was done for the management to take care of these issues and upping your game and standards to better serve your customers. Thank you for the accommodations, though.

**photos attached are for design ideas for the areas I mentioned***

Good job for the very apologetic security guard!

To the owner, please be informed that training is required for the manager and staff. Incomplete details during reservation considering that reservation was done personally 2 weeks prior. We were not informed that food is not allowed..This pissed as of as we arrived there 2:10pm and were all hungry. The rooms were not yet prepared. The manager is so discourteous with loud voice that she told us to eat either at the parking area or in the small nipa hut where their staff are staying. She even told my husband that they will return my reservation fee if i will not sign the resort agreement. I don't want to sign because i was not really informed during my reservation that food is not allowed...we spent money preparing our food. Instead of being apologetic, they all connive with each other. Only the guard is very apologetic. No single apology from the manager and staff

Buti n lang ang guard ay sinamahan kami sa nipa hut ng mga empleyado at tinulungan kami magbuhat ng mga gamit.. yung mga staff pagdating namin kahit during check out walang naitulong..
