10 out of 10 to the Tradewinds staff

Review of Tradewinds
4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Apr 10, 2024
We have stayed at the Tradewinds Fremantle a number of times. We have found the staff from reception to restaurant to be excellent. From chefs to front of house . No matter what time you arrive from morning until just before the restaurant closes at night We are always welcomed with smiles and nothing is too much trouble. Our stay this time is for 10 days and the friendliness and efficiency is always there We could mention names but it would be unfair to leave anyone out. Thank you amazing staff for making our stay here as enjoyable as possible 😊

Lunch service - first time here. Nice setting with a lovely view over the river and lots of shade. Wasn't too busy. Staff were attentive. Orders consisted of Burgers, Fish and Chips, Fish Taco's and Steak.
The taco's are quite small, but tasty (I did not try these)
Burgers were good as well, not so completely huge that you cannot eat them.
Fish and Chips - no complaints at all and everyone thought the chips were really good.
I had the 300g Char Grilled Scotch Fillet with Mushroom Ragu anf a rocket/Parmesan salad. The salad really needed a little more dressing but, the star of the show was the steak - easily the best I've had in a long time. So tender and so so tasty, just YUM! I'd come back again for that. The Hello Sunshine Apple Cider was delicious.
A really good experience, thank you.

Dropped in for a draft beer on Monday, was charged $33 plus for 2 pints. These are the last I will buy from the Tradewinds. Outlook is great, service average, beer selection adequate , price top shelf. The parking bays are suitable for small to medium sized cars only.

Thank you for the review, balitraveller_10. I am disappointed you did not enjoy your pints at Tradewinds, our prices are very competitive with a large selection of Australian and International lager, pilsner, ale and craft beer. Get in touch with me please as I would love to invite you back for an other round of pints with a reserved car pay at our undercover carpark. Thank you, Kind regards, Silvester B Toth, General Manager. (gm@tradewindshotel.com.au)

In the past I have stayed in an upper level room. This visit I was “upgraded” to room 101. This is a large, ground floor room obviously for disabled accommodation. Unfortunately it is next to utility area. I was kept awake until 2am Saturday morning and 1am Sunday morning. Bins, kegs and trolleys were moved noisily around with loud talking between staff. Also staff stopping in front of my window for a chat even though after midnight happened both nights. Cleaning work recommenced each morning at 7 so 5 hours of “quiet” for sleep. Breakfast staff were excellent but a full time barista is needed. This will probably be my last stay at this hotel. Esplanade Hotel in future for a better nights sleep.

Room tip: Book a room on the upper level away from pool area and upper entrainment area.

Thank you for the review, Neil. I did address the same on the booking website you used for the stay and reviewed us, earlier. My apologies for any inconvenience once again; I have reminded the team to be mindful of hotel guests when packing down from functions - we had multiple weddings this past weekend. Our intention is always to deliver on our guests' expectations and I am truly sorry you were woken up by the team. Our reception is open 24/7, please call the night manager to address any noise issues in the future. Esplanade is a lovely hotel however with 300 rooms, a large atrium and big conferencing facilities can be very noisy and less personal than our boutique hotel. Neil, once again, I apologize for the inconvenience and I hope you return to Tradewinds in the future. Kind regards, Silvester B Toth, General Manager

This well established hotel was once known as a special place to visit. Nowadays it has unfortunately lost it's glamour and become just average. The pool had green sediment on the base, our toilet flush only half worked, the low upper terrace wall, over which was a steep fall, with the "Do Not Climb" sign, was useless with respect to an active 3 year old or any other child who could easily slip over the brick wall.
The food for dinner was not particularly pleasant but the wait service by the Manager was exemplary as he rushed around doing the type of jobs a waiter would normally do.
The worse aspect was being waken between 2.30am and 3am by metal trolley like noises outside our room (adjacent to the pool area) and then having loud clanking noises. On looking through the window, there was a man in a suit walking around adjusting all the metal sun lounger chairs, scaping them into place and clanking the head rests up. Our family had two adjacent rooms booked and both sets of occupants were waken by the noise.
Unfortunately we wont be visiting this hotel again.

Room tip: Eat somewhere else if you want better quality food. Cocktails are on average $25 and could hardly taste any spirits.
