Nice place to spend half an hour looking at the buildings (you can get inside some of them), fountains, park around. Architecturally it does not look at all similar to places like Barcelona or Alesund, "art nouveau" sticker really becomes clear when you look at the interiors.

Found this place by accident, but what a find! The history of the bath houses is so interesting, managed to get a sneaky peak inside one of the cubicles. It's all original from turn of the last century, so pleasing to find some physical history still left and not ripped out to make way for modern faceless improvements.

The Sprudelhof, located in the beautiful redesigned Park, has three fountains which are filled with the warm, full of magic things, coming out of 1200 meters. This water (Sole)is pumped into the surrounding Bathhouses and has healing power for heart problems.President Roosevelt,Hearst and many other important people used Bad Nauheim and their healing water for heart problems.Today most of the clientele is send to Bad Nauheim from there Health Insurance to Bad Nauheim. You can take a tour underneath the Big Sprudel. The surrounding Bath houses are build in the early 1900 and are still in use.If you arrive by Train and step out of the Train station, you see the Srudelhof down the busy road.

Charming place in the beginning of Bad Nauheim. Perfect for a walk to relax and apreciate the art noveau instalations (the bath houses and fountain. The people of the city make different events there, wich are perfect for a pick-nick!

Few international travellers are probably aware of Bad Nauheim let alone its art nouveau spa complex called Sprudelhof which is a real missed opportunity. If you have an interest in the well known art nouveau cities of say Barcelona, Brussels, Nancy and Glasgow then head for this small city just 30 minutes by train north of Frankfurt. It's a compact city of just 30,000 people with plenty of parks and walking trails. The overall impression is of a gentle place which came to prominence in 1900 with the building of various treatment baths where the well-to-do took the local spa water. Go visit the various, individually designed bath houses and help support the local society who aims to restore these buildings back to their former glory.

Oh, and of course, Bad Nauheim's other claim to fame is that it's where Elvis Presley stayed when he was serving in the American army.
