Second ski holiday at this fine property. Great staff and service. Food at the restaurant is superb. Looking forward to our next visit already. Ski in / out is perfect - sauna - swimming pool is exactly what you would expect from a five star.

Overall we had a good stay. The hotel is in a great location allowing skiers to ski in and out, which is really convenient. The hotel is very warm and the atmosphere is cosy and elegant.

Food - we opted against the half board option, having tried the main restaurant on our first day. The half board concept is fairly complicated at this hotel and it is a shame that the manager did not explain how it works. The food was just ok, but fairly bland.
With regards to the breakfast, there is a good range of options and they are also willing to adapt if you have certain preferences.
The bar menu is small but the food is decent, yet pricey. We tried both the salmon club sandwich and beef tartare. Both were nice.

The staff are great. Always willing to go out of their way to ensure our time was enjoyable. A special mention to the Matteu and Christoph - at the ski shop, Benoit and Tita- at the bar, Penny, Meridith and Elianor at the front desk, Jean-Philippe the driver.

The spa facilities are good but it could do with a few changes. 1. The entrance to the spa facilities has a puddle of water which is pretty disgusting to walk through. 2 the spa treatment is ok but not worth the price. compared to the luxury end of the market. The post treatment experience is poor and rushed. This is a shame as we purposely booked this hotel based on the fact it has a 5star spa.

We required a ski instructor and the hotel recommended us a private instructor, Denis. Denis was good and we would highly recommend him if you need a few hours of tuitions. He is also offers many great restaurant recommendations.

The chocolate almonds delivered during turn down service are so yummy!!!!

Overall we enjoyed our stay and would return!

Just returned from a very enjoyable week at the koh I nor.

Everything was spot on. The room looked exactly like the photos, the staff were without fail friendly and helpful.

The ski room is located on a nice blue piste and the skis are stored literally next to the slope with someone on hand to take them out and put them away again!

There are complementary biscuits and fruit in the boot room for when you're back from the slopes and home made marshmallows every day at reception!

The room was very comfortable, and the bar had excellent views from the terrace, albeit the prices were eye watering, but that seems to be par for the course for the resort.

The food in the restaurant was excellent and there was plenty of choice.

The hotel is slightly out of the way at the edge of the resort, but this isn't a problem as there is a complementary shuttle bus that will drop you off/pick up anywhere in town.

Had a great stay, and very happy with the service. Only niggles (and these are niggles) would be. 1. The only English TV channels were BBC News and US news, some entertainment channels would be great! And 2. On turning the lights out at night there were lots of little lights shining in the room (generally the 'on' switches of the lights and phone, etc) - which I found distracting and quite bright. But these are just my personal suggestions.

We went here for a 4 day ski trip. When we arrived we parked our car in front of the hotel and checked in.

The check in went very smooth and our car was unpacked and parked. All our luggage was brought to our room and our ski's and board right to the ski room.Perfect!

The room looked nice (room 411) had a view on the piste. We picked this hotel because it was situated near the slopes. It really was perfect situated you could ski right down to the lifts and when you're done ski right back to the hotel also perfect!

We had some issues with our room, the tv did not work and our bathtub did not drain the water. When you call them they fix it right away not perfect but good enough.

There is 1 sauna and a swimming pool, this was ok. I could not find towels there. There are lockers if you would like to lock up your watch or something.

The restaurant cave ( see other review) was not our cup of tea.
The restaurant Le Diamant Noir was perfect we really advise to have diner at least at one time! There is a Nespresso in the room with 3 cups, I dont drink coffee so I asked for a water cooker this was no problem, made me very happy since i am a sucker for tea.

Breakfast was good enough. We missed fresh juices sometimes there were a few fresh juices sometimes there weren't. The egg boiling machine was not good, you had to wait for 15 minutes if you wanted a hard boiled egg. I have a glute and lactose intolerance, if you ask for products they will make / get it for you so that was very nice.

The bar looks nice with a fire place, in the evening there is a very good life music. The prices are a bit crazy but that is all over Val Thorens. Champagne 22 eur, cocktails between 15 and 20 eur. Burger with fries 27 eur.

The hotel is pricy, the staff friendly, service is good. There are a few small points to make it perfect but overall we probably will come back.

We spend 4 days 3 hotel diners and 1 visit to the bar around 3000 eur.

Staying at a hotel with 5 stars and for the price I was paying I was expecting so much more.
At the very least we were expecting to have Internet access and a good shower, but unfortunately this was not the case.
We arrived after a long trip where our bags had been lost. On check in at the hotel we thought we may have been offered a toothbrush or some sort of assistance to make us feel comfortable since it was -5 outside and my wife only had tights and a denim skirt. We were offered a coffee in the hotel bar but we misread this as we thought it was a welcome drink after our troubled travel, it was not! And we were swiftly given a €14 bill for the 2 coffees.
With our fan in the bathroom not working and the position of the shower being very odd and not very conveniently located it meant to wash and rinse your hair you have to lean on quite an angle, definitely not luxury. The staff on the front desk were being polite but not very helpful in locating our bags this could have been due to the internet being so bad. we managed eventually to to locate them online.
We then needed to get a little laundry done as we obviously had no clean clothes, the hotel managed to shrink my wife's shirt and for another t-shirt and 2 pairs of pants and 2 pairs of socks again they were very quick in issuing a €30 bill. At a place like this I thought this might have been a goodwill gesture to offer some laundry when you don't have any clothes.
On arrival we had explained this was our honeymoon but this still didn't seem to ignite any urgency or proactivness to help. We were eventually offered a massage which we didn't take up and then after meeting with Marie the hotel manager she was more concerned with saying how good her staff are. We arrived home on our last night after dinner to find an offer of dinner and wine in the restaurant which was no use to us as we were leaving the following morning!
All in all for the price we paid we expected a top quality service, which we didn't get and some sort of compensation for the time we had, but this wasn't the case. Most definitely won't be recommending this place to anyone or going back.

Room Tip: Don't take room 310! Shower is a real pain! Can't speak of other rooms.
