Chalet Peche is found in the Les Balcons, high in Val Thorens. You can ski to about 50 meters away from the Chalet, but this does involve traversing a steep red run which can be moguly by the end of the day. Getting onto the slopes involves a 100m walk to an access point and then further skiing to the nearest piste/lift.
The Chalet itself is old, dated, and lacking on luxury. The beds are small and firm, and the showers are also lacking in space if you're over 5 feet tall. The Pool/Sauna is also located in another building across the street. In terms of amenities there is a supermarket, ski hire shop, restaurant and bars nearby, although the rowdier main strip is about a 10 minute walk away if you’re after nightlife. The wi-fi signal in the Chalet is also appalling.
Overall this is a good place to stay if you are in a large group of younger travellers who aren’t fussed about 5 star accommodation. 2 out of 5 seems harsh, although 5 would be overly generous.More
