“Magnificent mountain lake”
Review of Lac de Gaube

Lac de Gaube can be reached via the cabin- and chairlift (2) (and a 15min. walk to the lake) from Pont d' Espagne (tourist office/entrance-ticket box office)(15 € / adult for round-trip) or you'll opt for the walk/climb by foot (1h30). Enjoy the splendid views from the chairlift and obviously the enchanting views upon arrival at the Lake. A great spot to enjoy your small pick-nick (you'll be able to enjoy some food & drinks at the brasserie/cafe as well) whilst enjoying the magnificent surroundings, nature and lake view. Truly worthwhile the visit !

Been here for both extremes Summer and Winter. Summer is best in my opinion as you get to explore numerous paths that are too dangerous in the winter. The walk to the lake is an easy one from the ski-lift (haven't done it from the car park yet - kids are too small).

Be aware - you pay the same price for gondola+ski-lift EVEN if you don't get the gondola.

Take the telecabine and then the teleferique directly yo the lake, preserve your energy for the 2h path leading from the lake to the refuge oulettes gaube, where you'll enjoy the stunning view of the glacier des oulettes, simply spectacular!

Beautiful blue coloured lake. Approximately a 1 hour walk from the car park at Pont d 'Espagne. LOts of flower meadows on the way up with stunning scenery water and waterfalls. Lake Gaube is a remarkable place, and it will be well worth your effort to go and see it.

Absolutely stunning scenery - easy access for two young boys (11 & 8) and made for a great walk of a few hours. We did in the early evening when heat was less but was still very comfortable. Well recommended!
