We went there because it was recommended to us. Mr Gruss and his wife are very pleasing people and they know the wines.
We tested the wines and we visit the farm; very impressive what a small family with only a little help can do with 17 ha winery.

This is an outstanding winery that does not need to have garish offers posted outside.
From the exterior, everything is understated.
Their wines are excellent.
After tasting, you cannot fail to buy.

Go here for the wine, the place, the people, and the city. This one really has it all. The wine is great, the owner is personable, the cellar is amazing, and the city of eguisheim is one of the prettiest on the route. I have been to 8 vineyards on the route and this is the best so far. I will be back.

The Domaine is easy to find close to the centre of this absurdly pretty village, opposite 2 hotels. Very friendly and knowledgeable host who showed us round, spoke good english and gave us an extensive tasting of at least 15 different wines. Very instructive how even wines with very similar labels can taste quite different. Some really good wines at prices that do not break the bank - their Cremant is very good value for money.
Expect to take a good 2 hours and don't plan to drive too far afterwards!

This place is unassuming and not marked well, but it is on the main street. The only thing that lets you know it exists from the outside is the shadow box showcasing a few bottles of their wine and their wine list. The lady (wife/owner) only speaks French and German. She let us taste whatever we wanted and so we tasted the Cremant, Cremant Rose, Riesling Grand Cru Eichesberg, Moscato, and another Riesling I can't remember. They were all great so we bought everything we tasted with the exception of one Riesling that I can't remember the name. Their wines had a nice body/complexity to it. Some places we tasted, their wines were bland, almost tasteless. Highly recommend this place!
