This place took our breath away! From the moment we were greeted at the bottom of the stairs until the moment we left we felt like royalty. I cannot say enough about how absolutely beautiful this property is. From the stairs leading up to the house, the vegetable garden, the gorgeous little pool overlooking Positano with its heavenly views, the "path of the gods" trail just behind the property, the layout of the whole place just feels so secluded, private and tranquil. We came here for only one night as part of our honeymoon and were so so sad that we had to leave. Anna and the staff made our stay so amazing. We were upgraded to the biggest room which was like a whole flat. Spacious, clean and lovely. Anna came round with lemon pies and we had a bottle of Champaign with strawberries waiting for us. After dinner (which was arranged for us with a private ride to restaurant and back and was AMAZING) we came back to our room to find the candles lit and the bed freshly made. Breakfast was delicious, full of options with a selection of homemade cakes- yummy!
We said our sad goodbye to Anna which hugged us and asked if she could get us anything for the road. We are already planning our next stay here at I Giardini dei sensi‬ and you should too!

Really disappointed! This was advertised as an apartment with a kitchenette. Having a counter top only is NOT a kitchenette. There was no stove or microwave, no sink, no plates/eating utensils/etc that qualifies it as a kitchenette. The pictures on the website looks like the rooms are large and spacious and have a sofa. This was NOT the case in our room. Our room was small and had 1 chair in it. Not like the pictures. The towel warmer did not work. It was for hanging towels only. The hot water did not work one day. The breakfast was pretty much the same thing every day--mainly several sweet cakes/tart/desserts. While they were good the first day, it appeared that they used what was left over for a day or two afterwards and they had become dryer by then. This location is also quite a bit away from the village of Positano. You can look down into Positano, but it is quite a walk away. The property is rather isolated and remote from anything else and you are very high up on a mountain slope. You have to manage over 150 very steep steps and several inclined walking paths to get to your room, so you better be in pretty good health or this would be a real problem. They do have a cable car system to bring your luggage up since it is so steep and long. But to get off the property takes planning and arranging a taxi to come get you--or a long walk. Since this property only offers you breakfast, going out to lunch or dinner has to be planned. After a couple of days there other guests told us that you can arrange with a few restaurants to come pick you up and return you. The hotel did not have any of this information available for us in our room and only acknowledged this information after we learned from guests and asked them about this. This property does NOT have what they advertised as a "swimming pool"! It is a very small wadding/sitting pool. A fairly expensive place for what you get that relies on its views instead of quality!! The staff was great however!!

Thank you for choosing I Giardini dei Sensi and also for your review. We are sorry you didn't enjoy your stay. We are not really sure where you could have read about the kitchenette and we will try to find out where this wrong information, has been accidentally inserted. We cherish all your other remarks and we will use them as a good suggestion to improve our service in ordeer to offer you a better experience in case you will give us a second chance.

It was well worth the climb up to the hotel. The views were spectacular, the staff were very attentive, cleanliness was very good. Sheets and towels changed regularly, the gardens are kept very well , nothing was too much trouble from any of the staff, they even sorted restaurants out for us that picked us up for an evening meal. On the down side there were a few problems re: toilet door not shutting properly, and a couple of silly things that could easily be rectified, but this would not stop us going again, it was a wonderful holiday.

Well worth a visit. Had one night here during Aug 18. I’d recommend anyone to stay here, great views over Positano and very peaceful and relaxing. The pool is amazing as is the terrace.
The staff were great, very obliging to your needs.

The price charged per night is vastly inflated and not an indication of what to expect - it is an unusual place to stay with really lovely views, other people "raved" about the wonderful breakfast, in my opinion it was good but nothing particularly special, the plunge pool is nothing more than that, and if everyone wanted to lay by the pool at any one time there isnt enough space or sun loungers.
There is only breakfast offered here, so when you are hungry all other meals must be taken eleswhere, which involve a very expensive taxi fare there and back (50 euro return trip) or a long walk - down all the steps just to leave the premises and as others have said then along the very busy road into Positano which takes approx 25 mins.
If the room rates are a reflection of what to expect - I'm sure like me you'll be disappointed, if they were even half of what we paid which was £500 + p/n then I would say that would be a fairer nightly rate, which would manage your expectation of the room etc better.
Also a very important thing to note there is absolutely no sound proofing and you can hear everything - and I mean everything!! - we stayed here for 3 nights and I only slept 1 night out of those 3 - and on our last night around 4.00am I heard someone knock on the room next to us and ask them to "be quite as people were trying to sleep" - top tip - take ear plugs - even though high above the ground it is still very noisy !!
