Was taken here for my birthday and had the fish tasting menu for lunch.

The views were absolutely spectacular and it would be well worth coming out of your way to go here just for them alone; panoramic with Capri on one side and Vesuvius on the other.

The food was really fantastic and the tasting menu was so well balanced that despite not having a large appetite, we were left wanting more at the end of every course and left the lunch very comfortably full. Particular highlights were the scallop dish and the burnt wheat pasta dish but in all honesty every one 10/10.

Service was, as you'd expect, immaculate and the waiters were wonderful and made the experience perfect - even putting a candle in my desert and singing to me despite having no reminders from my partner.

Both visiting this hotel and having lunch were real highlights of our trip and ones I can't recommend strongly enough. Well worth the trip.

The number one attribute of the hotel is its location - the view is breathtaking. Sitting watching the sun set into the ocean is one of life's joys, and living on the east coast, one we rarely get to enjoy. The hotel is a solid 4 stars - it has good bones with light, airy rooms with wooden floors and ours (a special room with a very lovely view) had a good sized balcony with lounger and table & chairs. The soft furnishings could do with a refresh and the bathroom could do with a refurb, e.g. there is evidence of water damage and the shower didn't drain properly so there might need to be some maintenance in the near future. One of the issues we had was smoking - there were people smoking at breakfast & lunch which was served on the gorgeous terrace, again at cocktail hour, after dinner...and people smoking in the room downstairs. We had our doors and windows open overnight to enjoy the cool air and stars but every time our neighbours went outside to smoke, this filled our room with smoke which was disgusting at 6am. None of this is the hotel's fault, more a reflection on the antiquated smoking laws in Italy!

Room tip: All rooms have a view

I recently booked Relais Blu as a surprise trip for my wife (combined birthday and anniversary trip) and I wasn't disappointed.
The views from the hotel are breathtaking and the hotel staff were very helpful and polite.
Here are a few facts and pointers that I wanted to know in advance that may help you when choosing to book Relais Blu:
1) Relais Blu is about 25 mins from Sorrento and a cab there will cost you 30 Euros each way.
2) The nearest place in walking distance is a village called Termini which is about a 15 minute walk
3) To get to Relais Blu from Naples Airport takes about an hour and a half (depending on traffic) and if you ask the hotel, they will arrange pick up for you. The cost is 120 Euros (one way).
4) I had a headache on the first night and didn't have tablets. The staff are not able to provide these to guests under Italian law. This is probably the same for most countries but worth remembering so you don't feel as bad as I did that night.
5) The restaurant is Michelin star and the food is very nice but price is reflective. Our meal for 2 cost around 130 euros which didn't include wine.
6) If you can, do take the time to take a trip to Capri. That day out was amazing! You can either book a private boat trip (500 euros all in including pick up and drop off from hotel) or share a boat with others (85 Euros per head all in). The boat trip includes a tour of Capri's coast, a stop off for a spot of swimming plus a basic lunch and drink. Then you are dropped off on Capri for about 4 hours. Lots of shops, stunning scenery, a museum and best of all - a chairlift that takes 13 mins each way to the top of the mountain. The views are absolutely stunning.
7) The infinity pool is a short walk through the hotel grounds and up some stairs. It has it's own bar area which is staffed so that you can order drinks or snack foods. As you can see from the pictures, the views from the pool are stunning.

Back to Relais Blu and we stayed in one of the 'special rooms' which had a private balcony. Ours was room 105 - I'll put some pics on so you can see as I think knowing the room can help when you book. Note: I think room 106 might have been better as it was on the corner so benefited from views of Capri and views in another direction.
The rooms had Sky TV though most programmes were of course Italian or dubbed in Italian.
There is a range of snack food off the Snack menu which is available from 11am until 11pm. Room service attracts a charge of 5 Euros per order.
Breakfast is from 7.30am through until 10.30am and includes a wide range of cereals, meats, cheeses, pastries, yoghurts, fruit, toast and drinks - from fruit juices to prosecco.

All in all, it was a wonderful trip and a wonderful stay in a fantastic setting. I'd highly recommend it to anyone wanting a holiday or break that is that extra bit special.

What an amazing hotel on top of a hill with nothing around it. Very small you feel like you are at home, the rooms are nice, amazing views from the terrace. Breakfast overlooking the sea and Capri, quiet you feel like you are in paradise. Everyone gathers to see the sunset. The pool is ok with great views. Very highly recommended if you can find a reservation.

Setting outbid this world. Service friendly and excellent. Food was lovely, looked great and some interesting flavours. Tasting menu good value. Watch out for the drinks prices - very high, top London prices, but you are paying for the location after all.
