I simply love Fonzari. This gem has gorgeous rooms with most having a large balcony which you can enjoy a glass of wine and watch the street below .
The pool on the roof top is nice to lay out and enjoy some of the stunning views available.
Breakfast has a good amount to offer but since it has changed to the main floor instead of the 7th floor it does feel cramped and can be loud.
The hotel can reserve your beach chairs but get this done early.
Should be some more staff that speak English to assist the Canadian visitors.
This is a gem hotel and love how it is right in the centre.

Hello, Hotel Fonzari is in the middle of Grado and is placed into a peaceful area closed to traffic. If you are a guest, the hotel is reachable by car. Grado is an isle so air is clean and not wet. At reception two kind girls , Roberta and Selina, will be glad to give you any informations.
You can choose to dine in hotel paying 18 euro for standard menu.
There is a very skilful chef ; the quality of food is good, so good that sometimes I have desired more quantities of food in the dishes referring about the standard menu.
The panoramic restaurant is on the 7 floor near the swimming pool.
The restaurant has also a menu "a la carte" available to everybody whith different prices.
The hotel is three hundred metres far from the GIT beach where you enter with only card ; there is another beach, at south without card, named "spiaggia costa azzurra".
Rooms are silent, clean and confortable exept for the third bed.
The third bed is a sofa that become very uncomfortable when used as a bed.
It looks like like a bent curved sledge where you can sleep only if you are a child.
All Junior suite have this sofa exept a few wide apartments.
There is a wide gym and covered garage.
Have a nice holiday at Fonzari.

I've stayed in mid-size (5th floor) two-room suites (as nearly all rooms are) for several weeks at a time. Most suites have extremely large terraces, many also have sea views, which are not easy to get in this town. Lobby is small but the breakfast is outstanding with very friendly service. The rooftop restaurant is worth a dinner even if you are not staying in the hotel and it has, along with the bar and pool up there, the best views in Grado. You can not beat this location, in the center of town, in a pedestrian zone and on historic piazza, which has Late Antique ruins, and not 100 yards from the water. Easily better than most a four-star hotels in Italy (though somehow it only has three).

Room tip: Splurge to get a larger suite on the 5th or 6th floor. Ask for sea view. Dine at the restaurant at least once.

A lovely hotel that has sadly gone down hill.
The rooms we had were very old fashioned, i believe some of the smaller rooms have been modernised. My Husband booked a suite as he thought it was going to be lovely treat for my birthday unfortunately it wasn't.
It says the hotel is air-conditioned, when we asked why it wasn't working in our room apparently the whole hotel had it turned off.
The staff who worked up on the roof terrace are rude!
The receptionist and the breakfast staff were very efficient.

Booked room with a view of sea and twin beds. Got room with no view of sea. And double bed and horrible fold out couch.
Breakfast was very good.
Restaurant menu was limited, but didn't matter, plenty of great restaurants within blocks.
Location was great.
Very friendly and helpful staff.

Room tip: Location was great! Walking to ruins to restaurants to shops.
