Yes Lilliesleaf is a bit out of the way but definitely worth the journey to find the Plough Inn. Recently refurbished the decor has some wonderful natural wood finishes. Warmly welcomed and served by the host. We thoroughly enjoyed mains of roast beef and duck burger. Vegetables were perfect and everything was hot and fresh. Followed this with strawberry tart and Brie de Meaux with honey. All delicious.

We went to the Plough on the recommendation of the lady where we were staying and could not fault it in any way, food, service and ambiance were perfect. Would recommend without hesitation.

Visited with a large family group on a Sunday lunchtime. Were made extremely welcome - especially the kids - by the owner. So enthusiastic and friendly. The food was exceptional - top quality and super fresh and tasty. Lots of tasty appetisers to keep us munching until the meal arrived. We were not hurried at all with our meal so had a lovely afternoon on a wet, miserable day.

A Sunday night out with friends. From the lovely setting in Lilleasleaf to the food. Nothing can be faulted. Bread home made to volutes before the meal. The main courses were beautiful. Fresh local produce. A wonderful port to finish off a memorable evening. Thank you

My girlfriend and I had booked a night stay at the Plough Inn, so after checking in and a walk we decided to sit down for our main meal. There is a great selection of spirits and beers to start with, and provided with a small poppy seed loaf with herb butter and home made pesto, then asked if we wanted some more once we had ate that. I ordered the Onglet with their straw fries, which are like shredded into a nest of fried potato which compliments the sauce and fabulous medium rare cut that I was provided with.

I would say it is upper end of mid-range, and it would be nice to see a few more veggie/vegan options.

But the front of house was great and the service was perfect and really made the meal feel special, and from the other tables I am sure those people felt the same.

Highly recommend it for a meal and stay.
