I stay away a lot with work and this is the first place I have refused a room I was given. Room 137 was in poor shape but tolerable, the radiator valve had fallen off and room was 30+C. I fixed the radiator valve and then tried to open a “window” but the windows where all frosted I suspect looking over a light shaft and none opened.
One might have opened in the past but was fixed closed with what looked like beer mats.
The receptionist was helpful and showed me to room 110 and opened a window.
This room has pealing paint/wallpaper, sash cords replaced with washing line, one window also does not open. A stuck off radiator and a stuck on radiator, cracked glass in window, bathroom window does not close, the door to the room you need to put your shoulder too to open (none complaint as a fire door). I could go on.
Dinner is a set menu only, and god forbid you sit in a seat some sat in before hand.
Despite paying for dinner I was refused access to the dining room.
Poorly managed with no maintenance.
If you find yourself unlucky enough to say hear, treat yourself and go upmarket to Witherspoon’s opposite for dinner and don’t forget to bring clean towels and soap with you.
Plus points, clean bedding, cheap beer.More
