Came here in a motor home we rented and had a lovely time. Good location. Very clean facilities. It's great that you can use the gym etc and pay extra we had food in Bar on the night which was really nice. Didn't rate the fly fishing only one rod left to hire and only one fish in the whole lake. Overpriced. Beautiful location and would revisit.

Just back from a great week at Thurston manor
The whole family really enjoyed the facilities
Shop on site was well stocked and the prices of most goods were actually cheaper than ASDA in Dunbar
The food from the restaurant was amazing and the staff were very helpful
The kids loved the swing park and the on site swimming pool

Female toilets in kids club were disgusting,my partner used them and there was toilet paper and excrement over the toilet seats !!!apart from that the place is excellent with nice food and staff but the little things that should be seen to unfortunately are missed.

This was our first time that we stayed at a Parked Caravan/Park home. The experience was amazing. The park home was a great facility and we loved it. The kitchen was fully equipped. Bedrooms were spacious with ample storage cupboards in rooms. No shortage of electricity or water. Centrally heated. Staff was very helpful and courteous. The only downsides were:
a. TV had a conventional antenna!! We are in the 21st Century and there should have been at least Freeview available.
b. The oven misfired a number of times before finally igniting.
c. The bathroom was a bit messy. Should have been clean.
Rest all well.
Would I recommend it: Yes. definitely.
Would I like to revisit: Yes. Ofcourse.

Room Tip: Try to choose a home away from the bar in a calm environment.

Grass Pitch 60 – Grass pitches described on the Verdent Leisure website as ‘well positioned pitches’, ‘suitable for tourers’.
The grass pitches were unsuitable for tourers, it rain heavily the whole weekend and there was no drainage on the pitches, this meant that there was a huge amount of surface water that turned the whole area into a mud bath. Due to this, we were unable to put our awning up at all, meaning we had a very overcrowded caravan. We have also had to replace the carpet flooring in our caravan as the mud has carried in and ruined it, which was completely unavoidable. We left a day earlier as this completely spoilt our whole holiday, when we advised the front desk about this, we were informed ‘it was due to the bad weather’. We do not feel this is an adequate reason, for a site that is based in Scotland, surely they are used to adverse weather and should be equipped in reasonable manner to deal with such. There were multiple vehicles and caravans that ended up stuck and had to be helped out. When speaking to a regular customer, he advised ‘this is the worst we have ever seen the ground, I spoke to the manager as I have had to take my awning down, he doesn’t know what to do’.

Smoking – I note that there are designated smoking areas outside the shower block. However, upon using the female toilets, I found a woman inside smoking. To my alarm there were no smoke detectors around the sink or toilet area and she was simply allowed to continue. There were also small children present who were brushing their teeth.

Security – There is a complete lack of security or rules on the site. We had neighbours who at 3am in the morning, were shouting, screaming, arguing, swearing and thumping/banging on caravan doors to be let it. It was quite clear they were completely drunk and were allowed to continue doing this for an hour and a half with no security intervention at all. Our 2 children were so scared they were crying and our baby was woken multiple times due to the disturbance. With a bar being on site, there should be enforceable rules about noise after a certain time. We have been to parks with strict noise regulations and it works extremely well
.
This has to be said, the worst touring break we have experienced, we have complained and never had a response back
