Kids weren’t too impressed with the battered nuggets but the rump steak and burger was decent. Staff were pleasant and clean establishment.

We visit this pub each time we are in Bowness which is a few times a year. The staff are very friendly and the food is excellent. The pub itself is very clean, it has open fires and the outdoor dining area is really cosy and warm even in the winter months. The menu is varied and caters for everyone.

Ordered a hot dog, the bread was so hard I couldn't bite it, when I complained about the food being cold it was taken and thrown in the microwave and brought back 30 seconds later. they microwaved everything, the hotdog, bread and salad!

Stopped here whilst on a day trip to Bowness and despite it being very busy we managed to find a table in the upstairs part of the pub. Went to the bar to order and was informed that it was a 40mins wait , with it being busy. Only waited about 20 mins which was good considering how busy it was . Food was excellent , and the staff were also excellent . I had the fish , chips and peas and I can honestly say that I have never seen a fish that big , served anywhere. Would definitely go back here and would recommend it if you ever visit Bowness.

Been on a walk bit thirsty and bit peckish so decided to drop into The Albert.... Really busy but we managed to get two tables up stairs, we went back down stairs and ordered our drinks from the very good selection of local beers and lagers. Now for the food we ordered a Cheese Sharing platter with extra bread, wow it came to our table on a large piece of granite rock it was perfect. And a couple of various panini'... or and a bottle of Red Wine.

Summary
Very busy
Good selection of Local Beers
Friendly Staff (almost all of them)
Great looking food
Great tasting cheese board
Great atmosphere

Would definitely be going back.....
