Description: While serving up cakes coffee and Dorset tea most of the time, the Lookout Cafe also serves tasty local fish and chips, fresh crab sandwiches, and salads of all types. Well worth eating there just for the view over Weymouth and Portland.

Decided to stop here for breakfast having read good reviews and not wanting to eat at a Beefeater whilst staying at the Premier Inn in Weymouth. It’s got great views which were hampered but misty/rainy weather but would be amazing on a clear day. Inside and outside seating but as it is such a popular cafe it soon got full inside so arrive soon after opening for breakfast. Really good menu, there is so much we would have eaten on it. The food we had was presented really well by friendly smiling staff. Great breakfasts, my husband had a full breakfast and I had avocado with 2 poached eggs and bacon and mushrooms on a piece of toast. It was delicious. Will look forward to coming back for lunch sometime.

I’ve been going to the Lookout for many years now with family and friends. It’s such a pleasant place to have something to eat, have a drink and chill, and even to have an ice cream when it’s sunny out (which is rare). The lookout will also be on the top of my lists for a place to eat as the food is delightful and a family-feel staff base.

The only criticism that I really have is the size of the place, it’s quite small compared to the fan base it has built up. Sometimes you may find yourself having to leave as there are no tables. Both a good and bad sign, good because it shows the popularity of the Lookout and bad because you may miss out on an amazing meal.

Overall I would highly recommend the Lookout especially on the sunny warm summers day.

A great place for breakfast, coffee & cake or lunch, staff are very friendly and the meals are very tasty. No better place on a sunny day for a lovely crab sandwich or a full English on a cold winter morning.

I had a vegan breakfast and the majority of the meal was ok: the toast, hash browns, beans and tomatoes. But the mushrooms were absolutely tasteless and then to compensate for that the spinach had way too much flavour but not in a good way. It tasted like it had come out of the sea! Not pleasant at all.
Staff nice and friendly. But it was very cold inside the cafe.

Always busy but a good turnover so seats always available. If the weather is good lots of benches outside to take in the views
