This lovely pub made our holiday . Camping in the forest over the wet, cold Easter weekend was saved by the warm welcome, wonderful food and fire. Sorry if Milly, my dog tripped a few visitors up as they tried to get nearer to the fire!
Thanks to all the staff.

Visited for weekend lunch having read previous reviews, enjoyed the pub, atmosphere and the range of beers. I’m reluctant to say only average for the food, but didn’t feel it warranted any higher. Ordered burgers so maybe my fault, burger was ok, but chips really undercooked- very chunky chips, but hard and cool in the middle. When I saw other dinners coming out they looked a lot nicer, will go back and next time try something different

A group of 9x of us booked in for Sunday lunch. Friendly staff, good size portions, great for everyone young and old!

A couple of people in our group ordered the fish sharer (each) expecting it to have just small portions of each fish available. Pleasantly surprised! They were huge and meant the rest of the table could tuck in too! Definitely gets a recommendation! Pie of the day was good too and everyone who ordered the beef roast seemed happy! Only one thing missing.. a vegetarian option on the roast dinners please!!
Thanks Snakecatcher.

We've visited the New Forest and stayed in Brockenhurst on several occassions of the last few years. The Snakecatcher is a firm favourite to stop in and have a cider or two at the end of a day! The pub is lovely and cosy, and the staff are always very friendly. There is a great little beer garden to the side of the pub as well which is great when the weather is bit warmer (and/or drier!).

We ordered the beef in ale pie, venison bangers and mash and rump steak. The steak is deliver to you on a hot stone so you can cook it to your liking. My daughter absolutely loved the novelty of this and declared it the best steak she had tasted in ages. My venison bangers were smashing with very nice mixed veg and perfect lump- free mash with lovely rich gravy. My wife’s pie was excellent.
This is a nice friendly pub with a varied menu and I would not hesitate to go back.
