Stopped off for lunch with my mum. We both ordered the BBQ platter which was great value at £7.95. It consisted of 2 chicken drumsticks, 1 chicken breast, and ribs, bucket of chunky potato wedges, BBQ sauce and homemade coleslaw. It was delicious. Coffee was good and we shared a piece of malteser slice, which was slightly disappointing as it was more squidgy dark chocolate than maltesers. The dark chocolate overpowered the taste of the malteser too. Not sure why they would use it? The gift shop is lovely to look around especially with all the Christmas gifts just now but it is far over priced for what it is. There is nothing extraordinary, all quite tacky looking.

We have often enjoyed this establishment for breakfasts, snacks, and lunches. Our latest visit was a huge disappointment. We visited with friends for a light lunch. The specials blackboard advertised a 'Ploughman's'. When I think of a Ploughman's I think nice bread, a hunk of cheese, some pickle and possibly some ham. What came was 2 thinly sliced pieces of bread, a tiny slice of some very crumbly cheese, more pickle than the cheese, 2 huge quadrants of a pork pie and 1 slice from a large piece of sausage roll. It was attractively presented, but it wasn't what I was expecting. I might have thought they were running very low on cheese were it not for the fact that there is a nice delicatessen shop as part of the business with plenty of nice cheeses on offer.

By the way, there's also a gift shop attached that stocks a wide variety of knick-knacks that you could well do without.

Arrived at 12.05.
Sat at a table 18a waiting to be served for 15 mins.
At no point did staff ask if I would like a menu or anything.
They were all milling around not doing much, only girl working well wad a young girl with long blond hair who was taking meals from the kitchen.
Up and left.
Customer service nil.
Food well never got the chance.

We stopped here for a cup of tea. The restaurant is very nice with waitress service. There is a big car park and children's play area below the restaurant as well as a lovely nature trail. There is a shop attached with lots of ornaments and fancy gifts.
