We made a beeline for this very traditional pub having found it by accident a year ago when visiting the area. The staff are welcoming, friendly and helpful, exactly as we recalled from our first visit. The three of us each ordered a different roast dinner and the food did not disappoint! Crunchy roasties, delicious meat, gravy you want to drink, tasty veg. One titchy grumble- I don’t think the Yorkshire puds are homemade.
Great atmosphere, very British and lovely sense of community, everyone chats so you could come on your own.
Also dog friendly!
Parking is a bit tricky, the pub is on quite a narrow one way lane, no car park. But we’ve managed both times.
