Quite interesting, but tiny. 2 main exhibits take ten minutes to read/listen to. The entrance price does include entrance to the art gallery up the hill though.

Visited with my dad during the #beastfromtheeast weather!

A lovely, well kept museum with friendly staff. The displays were very clear and the contrast between the old and the new were very well done.

The staff were welcoming and friendly.

For £3 per person you get an annual pass to both this and the art gallery. Too cheap in my opinion for two excellent attractions...I’d happily pay more to see them remain the quality they currently are.

It had been about 15 years since my last visit and I knew things had changed. The mural was still there of course, the right way round. The upper floor was dedicated to William Smith - father of English geology, compiler of the map that changed the world. There are hints of the class prejudice that held him back, glimpses into a mind that went into deep time and three dimensional space, echoes of conversations, debates and dialogues by the intellectuals of Scarborough who knew they were hosting genius.
The new dinosaur gallery isn't open yet but the giant tridaktyl footprint was breathtaking nonetheless.
All this left us needing refreshments... outside the main door and turn left.

This little museum is cheep to enter and the fee gives you entry for the year. It's a cute little museum with three sections. One has a dinosaur model, one a fossil skeleton and a buried man. The final section has a number of artifacts in a wrap around display. It's a fun place to take young children for an hour. It's close to the seafront and easily reached from town.

On a recent weekend break with National Holidays we had a free morning before our return home. We decided to visit the museum which was near The Grand where we were staying. To our surprise the museum was open (on a Sunday) which we were pleased as we wanted to see the Gristhorpe man which we had seen on tv. The museum houses geology and natural history artefacts with good video programmes. It is interesting for all ages and various exhibits are presented throughout the year. Entrance fee was £3.00 (free for under 18s) but that was for a year and also included entrance to the nearby art gallery (see separate review). Good value for money.
