2nd week ...all staff friendly and helpful ..restaurant has been above expectation. ..although the sweets are a bit average. .room comfortable and air conditioning a major plus in a heatwave only surpassed since 1976...minor niggle the key cards for the rooms are very temperamental. ..drinks prices v reasonable. .apart from the extortionate price of a glass of red wine thick end if a tenner ...ouch

Dear SteveLaverick
Thank you for the review and your feedback, Yes it is a major plus we do have air conditioning. Our drinks prices are competitive with surrounding hotels in the area but I will pass on your comments to my Head Office.

Stayed here for a family function nearby and found the hotel perfectly pleasant.

The hotel is a low level Holiday Inn on the road into Ipswich and is close to a variety of superstores, fast food, services. The hotel itself is not modern and a strange layout but nice. The staff I interacted with were good.

The room itself was large with a double bed and a sofa and was clean and well furnished. The bathroom however was very small, and because of the strange layout, closing the door without hitting yourself with it was a bit of a problem. I am a normal sized adult and struggled, thus I would not recommend my room for anyone who is of a large size and they would definitely not be able to close the bathroom door when standing in the bathroom.

Overall the hotel was very nice, I only used it for sleeping in so have no comment on the facilities but the nightly rate was reasonable and I would stay here again when in Ipswich.

Booked here for a couple of nights for our anniversary as a base so we could explore the local area.
Room ok ,comfortable but bathroom needed tlc!!
Bar service fine, but charges for same drinks varied(wished I'd got a receipt to compare)!!??
Didn't use restaurant so no comment.
Swimming pool ok but again in needcof tlc,but showers in mens changing room dirty, shower curtains grubby but the worst thing was the state of the extraction vent above, just gross.
For the money these places charge surely cleaning should be a priority??
Wouldn't stay here again.

Had 3 good nights here in the July heatwave. AC worked fine so no problem
Hotel is built on several levels so not ideal with wheelchair despite having stair type lifts available. One has a ridiculous door with could not be opened form the corridor neither by me nor the hotel staff. Despite this we had a most enjoyable stay, however one must keep entering car reg at reception, but plenty of free parking Hotel has a nice pool which was very welcome although the lane swimming section was limited. Did not care for the dinner menu so dined elsewhere.

Dear An_English_Man

Thankyou for the review.I am delighted you enjoyed the 3 nights you stayed here. I am sorry you felt the door was inconvenient to the accessible lift however this is kept shut as it is sometimes used by other guests to move luggage and this sometimes causes damage to the lift. The reception team have access to this door at all times.

Look forward to having you visit us again soon.

Stopped here for one night to avoid a long drive home. I’m an Elite HI member and have stayed in a lot of Holiday inns - but never used this one before.
The staff were efficient and friendly and the room was clean and modern. It was a good experience overall. Only thing less positive I would comment would be that the communal bar area is quite small and not particularly plush, unlike many other HI’s. This is more like a Hiliday Inn Express in that respect
