What can we say? We scoured the restaurant scene every evening of our five-night stay in Vienna and kept returning to Beim Czaak. The menu choices are diverse for Vienna (which cannot be thought of as having an innovative cuisine), and we enjoyed nearly every item we ordered--ten in all, given there were two of us and we dined there five nights running. We especially recommend the hausschnizel and potato pancakes with smoked fish (aka lox). Beim Czaak is a true Viennese beisl--cozy and friendly where, if you want, you can chat with your dining neighbors. The wait staff and owner were welcoming and seemed genuinely pleased to see us return, understanding that we did so because we appreciated what they had to offer.

Delicious food w attentive staff. At least 7 schnitzel choices. Reasonably priced. More locals than tourists. Returned for lunch following an excellent dinner.

We arrived in this place following the advice of Lonely Planet. As we entered, it was apparently full, so they almost "compelled" us to take something to drink to wait. A "Hugo" presented as a homemade cocktail, is in fact a small bottle (0,25) from an austrian brand, and it costs 5,50 Euros!). We ordered goulasch, and it was very good, but not that cheap as said in the Lonely Planet. The table where we sat was really small and staff was not friendly. At the end, I wanted to pay through a credit card, but their machine compells you to pay a tip, and it only accepts cards with 4 numbers codes. In Italy most cards have 5 Numbers. They treated us very roughly. There are definitely many better locations in Vienne

Not bad but not great either. I had a salad, which was huge, and a goulash of chanterelles with fried dumplings, which was not as interesting as it sounds. My dessert, a poppy seed cake with mascarpone creme was good but the "fresh fruit" that was supposed to accompany it was little more than a couple of strawberries. I loved the atmosphere and the service was great. Full of locals.

Scanned trip advisor for somewhere to, and found this!
Just around the corner from the Hotel, and the food and service were great. Obviously used by the locals (usually a good sign) we were not disappointed by the food or service. Try the house beer and the house schnitzel - both very tasty!
