My first visit to Salzburg and this hotel is situated at the heart of old town of Salzburg. You can get really close enough to all the main attractions just by foot. The room is so cozy and comfortable and here are several good restaurants nearby which open until late night that you dont have to be worried to get food when stomach calling in midnight! Their staff is friendly and always ready to help. Will definitely recommed to those who wish to come visit Salzburg.

I stayed here for one night in a single room. I was in Salzburg for the Christmas Markets and the location could not have been better. You are right there in the heart of Salzburg's old town, just steps away from the market.

The room was clean, the bed comfortable, and there was an in-room safe. I think the bed was larger than a twin size..maybe full size? I requested an extra pillow, and one was brought to me within a couple of minutes. I requested a restaurant recommendation and really enjoyed the meal at one of the ones they sent me to (K&K).

The only negatives: the wifi wasn't working great. It would work for 2 minutes and be out for 20. I tried the phones to call down and see if they knew about the issue, but the phone didn't seem to work when the wifi wasn't working, so maybe they were having an issue that isn't their normal. The other thing I didn't like was the towels. They were very scratchy (which normally isn't worth a mention), but they smelled like cigarette smoke. All of them. Not a huge issue either, just the two things that weren't perfect.

I would definitely stay here again. Great Hotel.

My first trip to Salzburg and i was advised to get a hotel once I arrived. At the train station, the booking agency said the city was sold out, especially old town, unless I went luxury $$$. I snooped on orbitz and this seemed true. I decided to follow Rick Steve's advice and took the bus into town. I seem to follow my intuition past Mozart platz to Hotel Wolf.
I was greeted by Norbert, who seemed doubtful anything was available. He told me to hold on, came back from the kitchen, they just had a cancellation! At a decent rate. I took the elevator to the 3rd floor to find a charming single bed, with desk, chair, big flat screen tv, rustic armoire and a carafe of fresh water. Simple and basic, but real down comforter and pillows? Nice firm mattress, two sets of Windows to keep the room quiet from the lovely, but non stop bells of Salzburg? Yes!

Norbert than got me on the next Sound of MUSIC tour with panorama and plenty of time to try a Thai place around the corner. Afterwards, a brief nap, time to recharge along with my cell phone. There was a handy little shelf on tyre wall and outlet right next to my bed, zzzz, 100%battery power!.
After a week in Germany i still had not tried Bavarian specialties and asked the new gentleman at the desk for advice, the place next door was booked and he told me about his favorite place up a narrow street below the fortress. I was able to get in to Saint Paulies and finished my delicious dinner with walnut schnapps! Prost!

I walked around trying to find nightlife and was blissfully asleep before midnight. I woke up way too early to find the handsome desk agent now getting the breakfast buffet ready. He kindly offered me coffee while preparing a gorgeous traditional breakfast. Picture perfect. He than gave me a printout for the train schedule that morning and directions to the bus.

I am truly grateful to have found this gem built in 1429! True hospitality, oh.. the bathrooms! THEY HAVE HEATED FLOORS!!!! AMAZING a first for me, great water pressure too! Plus very modern. Could have more soap and stuff, oh and a wash cloth. But i didn't ask. Thank you Hotel Wolf. And like that other Austrian original might say "I'll be back!"

Room tip: I'm single, the street facing room was quiet with the windows closed

We had a wonderful stay at the Hotel Wolf in Salzburg. We were there for the Christmas Market and also the music. The Hotel Wolf is situated just steps from the Market in Mozartplatz. The owners were very accomodating. Anton could direct us to where we needed to go. I highly recommend it.

My case was bad just for a small question - my fault, but also for lack of information. I arrived late, around 10pm and this little detail was enough to ruin the night! The issue is that the reception closes, and after that there's not even a phone number... the worst is that access to the hotel can only be done by car with the intervention of the reception, so, not being open the only way to reach it's on foot! It would be all right if I knew this, as I did not know, I had serious difficulties especially since, i'm traveling for 30 days in Europe, and it's expected heavy luggage;
Finally after some unforeseen and startled there I got to the room...
The whole space is very nice, small, comfortable, well decorated, quaint!
The breakfast was very good without many quantities or varieties but with high quality products, it almost looked like a traditional breakfast in a rural area.
The receptionist despite not being friendly was thoughtful enough.
If I had arrived on time I believe it would have been a fantastic experience!
