we had two rooms in our party. my husband and I were in the Residenz across the street. really not convenient to go to the pool especially when it is raining. and my sister in a single in the main building. The main building has no air conditioning. they don't tell you that until you check in. deceptive. they left a small chocolate in her room it was melted. Our room was not as it is pictured on the website. It was Spartan and seemed to decorated in early garage sale style. the pillow as very flat, the mattress is very thin, the towels are threadbare. I've had nicer accommodations staying the desert in North Africa. Now this would be different if this is what I was expecting, but they portray the hotel as nicer than this, the pictures are not what you get. And then we had several frustrating conversations just trying to get information from the front desk who were less than helpful. There have to be better hotels in Salzburg

Spent 3 days there during the early August heatwave. Fortunately our room in the annex was airconditioned. Hotel is well positioned for short walks to various concert venues, and aslo for shopping and sightseeing. Breakfast was really good with cheerful service from bright star Rosa and her staff. Reception staff were also cheerful and knowledgeably helpful

We spent one night at the hotel on a quick jaunt to Salzburg. As a family of 4, we had an apartment booked in the Residenz across the street. The room was a two-story loft style with 2 bathrooms and sleeping spaces. Beautiful dormer windows looked out over the charming buildings. The A/C was fantastic and kept us quite comfortable. The check in and any interaction with the front desk were very pleasant and they were quite helpful. The location of the hotel was quite convenient for walking around, as well as reaching the train station. We enjoyed a few drinks on the patio that evening and loved conversing with the nice man that was serving. All in all everyone in our family loved our stay at this property and only wish we would have had longer in Salzburg.

Pros....breakfast is very nice, wait staff is friendly and accommodating. Check in staff also nice.

Cons...The pictures do not depict what you will actually get which is a very dated hotel. Also, air conditioning only available in the Residenz, NOT the Main building which they do not adequately convey when looking to book so if AC is important to you, go elsewhere!!!!

When we arrived it was very hot but thankfully it cooled down in the days following so we managed. Leaving windows opened is great BUT it’s bee/wasp season so you really can’t do that easily so again, go elsewhere. Also, bathroom towels are in need of replacement. If you hold them up, you can see several worn spots and wash cloths along with normal toiletries are not provided. Pillows on beds are flat as pancakes! No support whatsoever.

Final CON, the bartender we had was rude and creepy. Kept staring at us and was constantly telling us the “rules”...” move umbrella so I can put down your drinks (plenty of room)..no sitting outside except in designated chairs, no drinking beverages of any kind, NOT even water” brought down from your own room supplied by hotel! Crazy!

Many other options for same price with more updated accommodations and friendly bartenders!

We were in Salzburg for the opera and the hotel is very well situated for both the opera and to walk around the old and new town.
The staff are friendly but not too in your face.
The sauna, steam and pool are a nice touch for a small hotel.
We had booked the Magic Flute room which was a junior suite style with an interesting layout for the bathroom as it’s in the sitting room behind a curtain!
Breakfast was food and substantial and set us up for the day.
Nice touch in the afternoon of complimentary coffee and cake.
Would recommend for anyone that wants a nice base in the centre of Salzburg
Only minor drawback was as it’s an older style hotel there was no air conditioning and with the temperature reaching 30 degrees centigrade and still very warm at night the room was very hot despite running two fans all night.
