Hotel quality what you can expect from this chain - rooms were spacious and clean, breakfast was good, but not excellent. Lot of noise in the hotel at night when guest arrived at their room. The doors did not shut the noise out so we woke up a few times.

We requested early check in at 1pm and were told it would try to be accommodated. We arrived at 1pm but our room was not ready until 2. The front desk told me check in was 3, which wasn’t true. It said 2 on our confirmation email. So I talked to a different person at reception. She was pleasant and offered 4 free drinks for our troubles. The room was large and plenty of room for the 5 of us. They however forgot to make the sofa bed and it didn’t have any sheets. The breakfast was awesome. It was a pretty decent hotel. It is well outside the city. The parking is very convenient too.

I would also like to express my regret you were not able to check-in earlier for this time and moreover that there were non-matching informations about the check-in time : please allow me to confirm here that as your confirmation email and hotel website say, it's actually 2 pm. The hotel is located on top of a large hill, but a bus (about a 5 minute walk away) will take you to the city center in a matter of minutes. There is a convenience store and restaurant on the way down to the bus stop with friendly people at both, but they keep odd hours. The restaurant/bar/breakfast at the hotel is overpriced and the staff seemed stressed out over just a few people being there. Luxembourg is a fantastic city and if all you're concerned about for a hotel is a good night's sleep, then this place will be fine, though a lack of vending machines means you may have to stock up before returning to the hotel, or pay 30 euro per person for a light meal downstairs.

Poor service. The worst thing was - however - that a waiter used ice cubes from a wine cooler. He took these with his hands - before serving. At the breakfast they cleared the table for everything while you were up and getting food from the buffe. This is just few things

The Hilton chain has always been my favourite so even though each hotel that I visited were from different countries, returning to a Hilton is to return to that familiarity of home. With that said, if you been to a Hilton and you love it then you will love Hilton Doubletree Luxembourg.
Luxembourg is going to be free public transport soon (March 2020) but before that date you need to pay 4Euro for a whole day of free public transport.
I just use google directions to get around the city. Bus number 12 from the hotel brings you direct to the Notre Dame.
Restaurants around may be limited but luxembourg has a wonderful food delivery service system. So just have them delivered to your Hilton.
Breakfast at Hilton will always be a huge spread......thus far, at all the Hiltons I have stayed, the breakfast always will make me go wow wow wow.
