Visited with a large group mid week - super food, gorgeous private dining room (downstairs) and charming service. Would highly recommend.

Rubino opened as a confectioner in 1926 and the restaurant is housed in the original premises. It is a delightfully quiet, small restaurant with four tables on the ground floor and a few more downstairs.

Menus are on a blackboard and the host will describe them in succulent detail. We loved the Neonate fritters which were featherlight and not too salty and the Lampuki, although the portion of four fillets was far too generous for lunchtime.

There's a good wine list and the whole dining experience was very good indeed

Not the most comfortable of restaurants- we had a small table at the bottom of a staircase looking directly into the kitchen. Food good by Valetta standards.

We really enjoyed the dinner at Rubino !

Delicious creations of Maltese cuisine, We had the burratina then the risotto with the rosemary Which is simple but executed very well and enjoyed the rabbit in port wine sauce. Make sure not to miss the signature dish - casatta Siciliana!

The first time I went, Rubino was fully booked - make sure you make a reservation. Then, I went for lunch and got lucky; the restaurant is very cozy and authentic, and the waiter so dedicated I first thought he was the owner. The menu has a wide selection of specialties, and everything I tasted was extraordinarily good; the flower of zucchini, the fried dorado, the dessert - and even the spreads and bread served first were simply delicious. Fine wine selection, as well, and all in all it was the best dining experience I've had in Malta. Don't miss it!
