We were in a superior room and found it to be more spacious than anticipated. Nice breakfast offerings every morning with plenty of fresh fruit, meats, and breads. A little bit of a walk to the city center, but a very walkable and safe city. Excellent staff who were very helpful and plenty of free parking. The bed was ok and the pillows a bit stiff but overall a pleasant stay.

Room Tip: Book a superior room for extra space

Hotel Cabin is a clean, contemporary hotel not too far out of Reykjavik.
Nice views out to the harbour from our 'Superior' room which had all the modern facilities you need without being exactly luxurious. Being on the top floor there did seem quite a bit of 'heating system' type noise in the night.
Reasonable buffet breakfast and free parking behind the hotel.
Judging by our visit the hotel is very popular with business people and school parties as well as tourists.

Rooms are ridiculously small for 2 people with luggage as no storage for suitcases! Windows not double glazed so cold air coming in and noisy. This hotel was booked as part of our tour and definitely would not book this out of choice.

Dear Anna,

Thank you for your review and for your stay. We are sorry to hear that hotel Cabin was not what you expected.

You are very correct, our Standard rooms are indeed small. They are about 10m2 and we are very proud to be able to offer small rooms for a small price in Reykjavík.
We would like to mention that you can put your suitcase under the bed. You do have the option of booking a larger room if your prefer more space. Our Superior rooms are about 18m2 and have more amenities.

We do hope that your trip to Iceland was delightful.

Kind regards,
Hotel Cabin team

This has the smallest rooms I have ever seen. Very tight. I saw someone in a WC but not sure how they managed. Could not even get through door. On the plus side rooms are well heated and although tiny bed was comfortable. Breakfast provided. Mainly European fare so be prepared. Staff is helpful. Right near water so can have very pretty views. Easy to walk into town.

Room Tip: If you want quiet ask for a room in the back of the hotel. Mine was over front door and got quite loud.

Dear Dana,

Thank you for your stay at Cabin and for your review.
You are very much correct :) our Standard rooms are indeed small, they are about 10m2 and we are proud to be able to offer cozy small rooms for a small price with breakfast always included. We do offer the possibility to upgrade when possible.

With that being said, we are happy to know that you liked the heating in your room, the comfy bed, the effort from our efficient staff and the amazing view :)

We hope to see you in Iceland soon,

Kind regards,
Hótel Cabin team
