An amazing g building utilising an ice age rift in the rock. When we first got there it was a bit noisy due to a coach party of tourists, but they just stood at the back. Move to the front and it is very beautiful but also very peaceful. It is a big tourist attraction so try and avoid peak times.

The Rock Church feels more like a concert hall then a church. And the wonderful acoustics can also give you that impression. The architecture is stunning, most of it being set in solid rock. There are no paintings and if it were not for organ and a small cross nothing would tell you its true function. When I visited (worth the 3E entry fee by the way) there was a small concert of some weird vocal music. Wasn't on my taste, but could hear that special acoustics of the building. Do take a day and visit all the main churches Helsinki has to offer.

Travelers who enjoy architectural beauty must visit this church. It is also nice and warm inside, you can hang up your winter coats, take a seat and enjoy the beauty and quiet.

Must see!!!!!! We always like to see local churches in our travels and I have to admit this is one of the top I’ve ever seen. Trying to imagine how someone came up with the idea to build a church in a rock is just baffling. One thing to keep in mind is the entrance is a little confusing because it doesn’t look like a church from the outside. Loved it here, amazing spiritual atmosphere!

This is a unique tourist attraction both inside and out. From the outside, walk around the building to see how this church has been carved in the rock. On a beautiful day, it is quite relaxing to sit outside and watch the movements of the tourists and the traffic. Inside is magnificent. Make sure to go upstairs and sit in the pews overlooking the main seating area. Good spot for a panoramic shot of the church. People are quiet, and there is a very peaceful vibe. Good opportunity to quiet the mind and body, nourishing the soul. If you’re lucky, someone will be playing the piano or singing while you’re there.
