The first day went well, but the 2nd day the cruise ships came in and all the buses were commandeered by the cruise companies. We were left high and dry ...out of town..no buses no taxis..no nothing. After waiting over an hour we walked to what looked like the centre of Copenhagen. (We are elderly) where we got a taxi to take us back to our hotel.

This was a great way to get a overall view of the city. Drivers were very polite and pleasant. Our ticket was good for 72 hours which made it a real bargain. The first day we did the entire route but the second we just used the bus to get to where we wanted to tour.

We bought a 72 hour pass on the hop on hop off bus and found it worth every krona. We also added the boat tour and this gave a great perspective of the city from the water. We did the full tour to start and then used the bus to travel to specific stops where we got off and explored the surrounding area. The drivers were good and the commentary very informative. A great way to start your time in Copenhagen.

I was worried after reading the bad reviews that I was making a mistake. I am glad I took a chance. We had a great 2 days riding all the routes plus the boat. We always found a seat and never waited more then 10 minutes for a bus. A lot of times a bus was waiting when we got there.

My wife and I have taken many Red Bus Hop-On-Hope off tours in many so we have a level of comparative analysis and this was the poorest. We were charged 250 DKK($36.00) each for the combined bus and canal tour. I wish we had only taken the canal tour which was decent. The bus trip was with automatic audio in three languages but the driver kept talking over the audio at many locations. Who said what? We stopped way to long at the cruise port area where a mob of people got on. It took forever. The back door did not work more did the operators credit card reader. We also made stops at hotel locations where there was not much of anything else of interest. Take the canal tour and there are several operators available and pass up the Red Bus Tour. If you are a cruise passenger this probably makes sense as the bus gets you into town and gives you options. Staying In Copenhagen...we suggest you walk. The Red Bus folks should not mix the cruise pickups with tourists staying in town.
