Owner description: The Park has the concept of a rich biodiversity ecosystem of Crete. The visitors are guided though the rich wild vegetation of the park with the plants of Cretan traditional cookery, the aromatic medical herbs, the beautiful wild flowers from Crete and a lot of animals that live in this ecosystem. Crete with 10% endemic species gave a reasonable target to create this non profit park, to show the exotic flora and fauna of our island.

What a fabulous place this is, we visited as a couple although it would be great for families as well!!! €5 entry fee is so cheap for what you get a guided tour by one of the volunteers who have such knowledge and passion for the place. Don't expect a zoo or such like because this is not what this place is it offers an educational insight into flowers and plants etc along with other small animals, we even saw a chameleon get fed!!!

The vows from the top are breathtaking and they have a little cave as well.

Well worth a visit but take some decent shoes!!!

After a pretty exhausting stroll we got to the park and it was pretty much what it says on the tin. Smallish and not exotic but just lovely strolling about with a really sweet and interesting guide. Everyone left happy. Obviously it's not super polished but it's really interesting and just very nice. Our five year old loved it.

We saw a sign at the beach for this and decided to walk up and visit. Myself and 17 year old daughter were warmly greeted by 3 lovely volunteers who gave us drinks to cool down. Listening to their stories of how they had come to be there was as interesting as the guided walk itself. The knowledge displayed, pace of walk and opportunities to observe and touch an array of plants and wildlife was brilliant. We certainly watched nature in action with the feeding of the chameleons and the visit was topped off as the wild mountain goats came into our path - and stopped to pose for a photo! I left feeling inspired and much more aware of my surroundings.
