My daughter and I spent a week here in July, in a big, bright, airy apartment with a large balcony overlooking the swimming pool. It was equipped for very basic self-catering, but as there was a nice restaurant in the hotel and numerous other eating places in the vicinity, we made little use of that facility. The apartment was cleaned six out of seven days. There was an extra charge for air-conditioning, which was a necessity in July. The pool was medium size - clean and well maintained, and had a good bar which served great cocktails! From the moment of our arrival late in the evening, we found all of the staff - those in reception, Andreas and the staff in the restaurant/bar, and also the ladies in the shop - all so welcoming and helpful. They seemed happy in their work, and were delighted to provide local information, organise trips and arrange taxis when necessary.

The hotel is located right across the road from the sea and a small attractive harbour. It is a 5-10 minute stroll from the beach, which is served by several tavernas, who provide umbrellas and sunbeds provided food or drink is purchased. There is a good regular bus service into Chania, about 20 minutes journey away, and the bus stops outside the hotel. Tickets may be purchased in the hotel shop, which is a mini-market that sells water, milk, tea, coffee, bread and basic food stuffs, and also a multitude of holiday requisites.

There was in-house entertainment a couple of nights - the 'Greek night' on our first night there was very enjoyable, and a great start to our holiday. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Porto Kalamaki and would be very happy to return soon again.

I've been here with my friend to celebrate my birthday..
We booked through Expedia and we found a really nice offer for a classic twin room.
Once at the hotel, the lovely Maria, gave us a different room, a studio with view on the pool with not extra charges. Amazing, clean, (the cleaners are really lovely..), friendly.. The all staff is very welcoming and warm like this beautiful land which is Greece.
At the reception you can find all the information you need to discover the area and also they can organise for you little excursions (ask for Balos bay.. Really worth it).
5 stars... I really wish to stay here longer, but I need to come back, unfortunately to the realty!!!
Highly recommended!!!!

Located just in front of the beach, the city it's about 10/15 min drive. Our room was a studio, very clean and a nice view in the swimming pool. The staff was super attentive and they seemed genuinely happy to help! Happy hour from 5pm to 7pm, which is perfect if you want to chill out in the pool.
I'd definitely recommend it!

Forth time back to this lovely Hotel/Apartments. A cleaner, nicer, friendlier place would be hard to find. We have been going here in late September/October for the last four years and yes all being well we will be back next year again. Staff are brilliant, Andreas, who runs the shop, restaurant and bar is a real gem. His friendly and efficient staff chefs, shop assistance and waiters are all a joy, special call out of Yannis and Nicos what lovely guys you are. The area is great for a quiet, chill out within walking distance of five different beaches Chania Town is beautiful and there is a bus stop just outside the apartment takes 10-15 minutes. Not forgetting Maria, our favourite receptionist fantastic lady very knowledgeable about the surrounding area, need anything she'll see to it car hire etc. As the heading says we Love This Place and its the staff that make it.xxx
