I had never heard of this place until one of our travelling companions pulled it up on Wikicamps and we thought we would give it a go. Eight dollars per person per night for an unpowered site with kids from 10-14 half price. Plenty of room, hot, clean showers and a fantastic sunset over the lagoon. Great vantage point for cheese and bubbly! The morning scene is just as beautiful with a myriad of bird life.
If you are there on a Saturday night and arrive early enough to book, the adjoining homestead puts on three course dinner for six dollars a head! Unfortunately we arrived too late and it was booked out, but the returning diners siad they had an amazing night.
Definitely put this one on your list. It's a great over-nighter when travelling (as we were) from Adels Grove to Cobbold Gorge, but it would also be an excellent base camp for those taking in the fishing at Karumba.
Dog friendly, generators allowed. Friendly managers. Loved it.More
