This is a very clean park with good amenities, great pool and spa. Easy walk to town and river, good directions and maps given on check in. Friendly Town with 3 pubs. Even noticed the Managers parking a van for someone who could not back his own van.

We arrived around lunchtime so we weren't shown to our site, as others have mentioned, because lunch would get cold. Anyway, we found the site easily enough and set up the powered site.

It was in a shady place but this is where the problems started. I can't really blame the managers for this problem but in a word...ANTS!!!!

We couldn't sit outside because the ants were everywhere and biting us but the most annoying thing was they got into all our opened food. We had to throw out biscuits, bread and anything else that wasn't in a container. This was quite frustrating.

The amenities were clean although an update would make them a lot better. The washing machines cost $4 but there was no dryer.

The pool and spa area was lovely, although a little chilly in the pool.

I would stay here again but just not near the "ant" trees.

This is a typical outback caravan park - expect shade, some grass, dirt; some sites have concrete slabs. Although booking in advance, we were allocated what was probably the worst site in the caravan park but it wasn't an issue to be reallocated a site with a slab. The pool is very nice and the spa was most enjoyable, not being too hot. The amenities are in desperate need of an upgrade and the bathroom style ones were better than the traditional style. The park is very central to the town amenities, such as shop, post office, visitors' centre, Westpac and fuel.

Than you to all at Normanton Tourist Park. You are all fabulous. Couldn't have been more helpful in finding the perfect solution to a tricky situation. Would definitely stay again. Cabins are basic but have everything you need. Clean and beds are great.
