This is a hidden gem. Not far from the Casa da Musica. The collections range from amazing works of late 19th century art (I was particularly impressed with the works of Aurelia and Sofia de Sousa), to decorative arts, to porcelain, to jewelry, to furniture, to early firearms (!). Unfortunately, you can't roam on your own. However, the tour guide I had was very knowledgeable and happy to digress when I asked questions. Sadly, there are very little in the way of labels, so you need to rely on the guide. It was a fabulous introduction to a piece of Portuguese history and 19th c. art that I knew very little about before going. Now I have a solid knowledge so that I can continue to explore!
