A little paradise on this planet. Wonderful hotel, staff is very friendly and helping with everything related to our amazing holidays on this beautiful island. We stayed in the Presidential Suite for two weeks and enjoyed the hotel and the view across the gardens and the ocean a lot. The pool is very nice and relaxing. Highly recommendable!

One of the best hotels we've stayed at so far! The staff is amazing and super helpful, the hotel room was always clean, and the view from the balcony is amazing. The food, drinks, decor, garden, location... everything was a dream! We can highly recommend staying at Quinta Jardins do Lago!

Such a friendly hotel, nothing is too much trouble for the staff in making sure you enjoy your stay. Wonderful food, beautiful gardens. Very useful courtesy bus to take you into the town. Plus chocolate left on your bed every evening, what more could you want?

The experence in this hotel is extraordinary in every sense of the word.
The personel is very friendly and helpful.
The rooms are spacious, and have a beautiful terrace from where one can enjoy the beautiful big garden.
The rooms are very well cleaned very day.
Special treatment with chocolates every night before sleeping.
A fine restaurant, with a daily menu or a la cart, open every day.
A very nice bar with a big variety of cocktails and drinks, in the beautiful garden.
Super breakfast with the most tasteful dishes, and served with love and respect.
In the botanic garden there is a jacuzzi and big pool where you can relax after a levada walk.
Whatever the problem, you are being helped by everyone of the staff with a smile.
We have visited a lot of hotels, but this one is the very best we had so far.
We are coming back, that is sure!
Thanks to staff, you made our holidays rememberable.

Room tip: Parking available at the hotel and shuttle service every half hour to the promenade of funchal

Probably one of the best hotels you could stay in Madeira. The staff are so friendly and the hotel & gardens are amazing. We were made to feel special. The reception staff, restaurant, barman, housekeepers were all delightful. The gardens are peaceful and simply beautiful - the gardeners could win a medal at the Chelsea Flower Show! We have already decided to return.

Room tip: Shuttle bus has limited availability but taxis are available and costs about 6 euro to the town and back. Buses are great value.

What a fabulous hotel! It's difficult to say something which hasn't already been said in other reviews but this hotel really is the best and is so deserving of its five star status. We had a wonderful holiday and felt thoroughly spoilt by the amazing staff who couldn't do enough to make everything as perfect as possible. Every guest is made to feel very special.
The hotel is situated in extensive and stunningly beautiful botanical gardens which are superbly maintained. The nearest thing to paradise on earth. The grounds include a very attractive pool, hot tub and gym as well as Turkish baths. Our ground floor room was immaculately clean and comfortable, with an enormous bed and a balcony terrace overlooking the garden.
There were so many lovely little touches which made the whole experience perfect, such as an exotic flower in the bedroom and bathroom, a bowl of fresh fruit, bath robes, slippers and chocolates on the pillow at bedtime.
We booked on a bed and breakfast basis and the breakfast selection was excellent with the option of being served in the dining room, hotel terrace or in the glorious garden. We also stayed for dinner one evening which was delicious and beautifully presented.
This wasn't our first stay at this fabulous hotel which has become our firm favourite and somewhere where we know we are going to be totally spoilt. We can't wait to return and just hope there will be availability when we next try to book as I'm sure everyone who visits must decide to return. We really can't thank all the wonderful staff enough for their dedication and hard work, not to mention dear old Columbo the 66(?) year old giant tortoise in the garden who deserves a mention too.

Room tip: Situated on the hill overlooking the centre of Funchal but there is a hotel courtesy bus which runs regularly until early evening.
