I travel a lot and have been to many different hotels. It's hard to surprise me with service, gastronomic experiments or spa treatments. However, The Reserve surprised me! From the welcome at the airport to the sunrise in the mountains. Every step, event and meal is an unforgettable experience. I would especially like to highlight the service of a Guest Experience Personal Assistant. Your personal GEPA assistant is with you on call all 24 hours. You can ask any question or send an enquiry, and you will quickly get a solution. The staff here is very nice and smiling. Their smiles are very genuine, and so is their desire to create happy moments. The Reserve is a new-generation hotel where guests will have their own unforgettable experience. I recommend morning Thai chi and yoga, luxury bath, wine experience Vinhas do Tico, the Terreiro Fire Pit dinner, Epic sunrise above the clouds on the Pico do Areeiro, and dinner in the Galáxia Skyfood, and etc. etc. etc... They know how to exceed your expectations here!

The Reserve was one of the best hotel/resorts we've ever stayed at! The attention to detail, the staff, the food and beverage were all superior to any place we've stayed.
Alexander (our Guest Experience Personal Assistant) was fantastic. Our room was immaculate (housekeeping was fantastic). The staff response times to any request or question was always very quick. And the staff were always so pleasant and accommodating. The facilities are also all so great. Spa on the first floor and solarium/infinity pool area on the 17th floor are a treat. Food service (poolside) as well as in the Jacaranda Club was all excellent. This is a first-class operation! Believe all the 5 star reviews!!!

From the moment we landed in Funchal the team at the reserve took exceptional care to make sure we had the best possible experience. The greeting and transfer were smooth and check-in friendly and relaxed with a delicious glass of champagne. We stayed in a deluxe suite which was spacious and immaculately clean, with a huge comfortable bed. The room was gorgeous and we had everything we needed for an extremely comfortable stay. Our GEPA, Diana was so friendly and helpful and we had some fantastic days out on her recommendations. The whole GEPA team were exceptionally attentive and made our stay extra special. In fact, all the hotel staff were amazing and made us feel very welcome. The top deck pool area at the reserve is great, with fantastic views of the city, the sea and the mountains. Pool service was excellent and it was lovely to relax by the pool after a morning of sightseeing. The hotel exceeded all our expectations!
