The best

We returned home from this hotel 5 days ago and are missing it already. From the minute we checked in with the lovely ladies on reception to the final checkout we were treated like a lord and lady of the manor. The grounds are spectacular and we could spend most days just lounging and glorying in the splendour of the view from our terrace or walking round this former banana plantation marvelling at the plants, trees and insects. For those of you who need to be entertained every day and night, this hotel is not for you but the peaceful surroundings suited us down to a tee. The pool area is small but lovely and my wife loved swimming in the moderately sized pool. We could not single out any member of staff for praise. The Reception staff were wonderful and helpful, the housekeepers were super-efficient and could not have been more accommodating and the restaurant staff went out of their way to see to our requirements for eating. The room was comfortable with fantastic air conditioning. tea, coffee, water and toiletries provided and so peaceful, especially at night where other hotels have music blaring until midnight. We stayed on half board basis and the food in the restaurant was fine-dining standard. We did not have even a mediocre meal whilst we were there. The staff remembered our drinks order every night and every morning and even made a cake for my birthday which took place whilst we were staying there. Funchal is very hilly and there are some steep hills around the hotel but that did not prevent us from venturing out several times during our stay and walking into the centre of Funchal (about 20 minutes walk). You can always get a taxi on the way back if you can't face the hill. We have been to many hotels around the world over the years but I can honestly say that this is one of the best, if not the best that we have stayed in and we cannot wait to return. we are already looking at prices for next year. Thank you to the staff at Quinta Casa da Branca and we hope to see you next year.

Reception staff were welcoming and friendly. Breakfast service staff were functional. Short on welcome and smiles. Breakfast overall was good. Crazy paving around the site was actually dangerous.... If you wanted to look at the gardens, best to stand, still as you need to watch every step you take. Room and bathroom very disappointing... dated, nowhere to lay things out. Really needs refurbishment. Genuinely cannot understand how it is rated so highly.

On our first visit to Madeira, and Funchal, our travel agents recommended Quinta da Casa Brance hotel. The pictures looked stunning but nothing prepared us for how wonderful this place really is. It's a mini paradise nestled amongst the busy streets of Funchal. The staff are fantastic from start to finish, the level of service is of the highest quality. Special mention to Jennifer in reception who has excellent knowledge of the surrounding area, and is always at hand to address any queries. Also to Brigida who we met during breakfast mornings and dinner. Delightful and chirpy person. I could write lots of more, but I'd rather this place is kept a secret!

WOW!
Well where to start. This is a stunning hotel in beautiful grounds. We chose a garden room as they had sun loungers on the patios. The room was clean and tidy and you are able to request change of bed sheets by leaving a card on the bed.
We messaged the hotel before our stay asking if irons and ironing boards are in the rooms, they are not but they provided us them for our stay.
Every single member of staff is welcoming and polite.
Breakfast had a choice of continental and a menu from the kitchen including items such as porridge, full breakfast and salmon.
We ate in the Bistro a few times at lunch and once on the evening which is definitely worth trying. The Dining Room is also worth booking and if we had realised how amazing it was we would have booked in there more than twice.
If we return to Madeira the only hotel we would book would be Quinta da Casa Branca.
Thank you to all staff at the hotel for a wonderful holiday.

We stayed in the QdCB for one week in June and really enjoyed our time here. We liked the stylish design of the hotel with its lovely and well maintained gardens. Although the road outside the hotel could be busy at certain times of the day, we were not aware of road noise in the hotel grounds.

Our ground floor room in the garden block was spacious and had two reclining beds on the patio facing the garden. The beds in the room are very comfortable. The only minor criticism is that the bath/shower combination is very narrow and possibly in need of updating.

Breakfast (either on the terrace or inside) was a highlight. Lots of fresh fruit, cakes and pastries, breads, cheeses and meats to choose from, plus hot food that could be ordered. The breakfast team were very helpful and friendly. It was lovely to sit outside looking over the grounds to the hills above Funchal.

We made use of the small gym, sauna and jacuzzi which were empty most of the time we were there.

Hotel staff are excellent and very helpful. From the reception team to those who maintained the rooms and gardens everyone did a great job.

The hotel is on the west side of Funchal and uphill from the waterfront. We walked into Funchal several times and also ran down to the waterfront and along the pedestrianised areas. The hills make for a good workout.

We would happily return for another stay…

This is our third visit to the beautiful Casa Branca. Just returned from staying here for three weeks. Everything was perfect. All the staff were wonderful, there wasn't one that wasn't helpful or welcoming.
The housekeeper that looked after our room made sure that it was sparkling every day. it made a big difference walking into a well cleaned and cared for room, Thank you. TBH she was amazing and so were all the other staff as well. The room was cleaned and fresh towels replaced morning and evening.
We stayed in a garden room and we made the right choice for us. My partner doesn't like the sun or should I say the sun and him do not mix. This meant that I could go out in the sun on the lounger whilst he stayed on the terrace in the shade. Two loungers are allocated to each of the garden rooms.
The pools are well cared for with plenty of sun beds, parasols and pool towels provided. On a number of occasions we were the only ones using the pool facilities. Bar service is available at the pools.
The gardens are magnificent a pleasure to stroll around. A fitting testament to the gardeners.
We ate in for dinner on two occasions, food was delicious. Breakfasts are good and hot breakfast items are made to order.
We found the beds, pillows and bedding really good and slept really well.
We don't have one concern about the beautiful Casa Branca and therefore we have already booked for next year and cannot wait.
Thanks to all the staff for making our holiday perfect.
