Absolutely perfect in every way. the hotel room, garden and surrounding area is very beautiful so green😍. I think we got and upgraded to Junior suit room 1403 very much appreciated. I also requested the high floor and quite room. The management did accommodate my request. Thank you again. It was our first time in Porto bay resort but definitely it will not the last. This is the one of nicer resort I ever stayed in. We will be back soon.
One of the hiccups was the towel reserved sunbed, it was absolutely ridiculous. We come down to have breakfast early and the towel was already there. They must came down 4 or 5 in the morning to do that🤣🤣🤣. Shame on you.

The hotel is beautiful. We had a family suite which had a balcony overlooking the pool in one direction and the ocean on the other. There was a very large and very comfy bed (larger than a uk king) for myself and my husband and a pull out bed in the living room for my teenage daughter. She says it was very comfy but a little small. (She is used a small double to herself though). There was a small but very well equipped kitchenette with fridge, kettle and microwave and a small dining area. The room was a perfect base. The hotel itself was beautiful with indoor and outdoor pools, indoor and outdoor games, beautiful gardens a spa and plenty of places to eat. We paid for half board so mainly ate at the buffet which was great and varied with a different theme each night. There were also A la carte restaurants but I found them to be a little overpriced. The cafe at the pool was great for lunch and drinks. There were also a few bars with a different singer in each, every night.
The location of the hotel was well positioned surrounded by lovely bars restaurants and the lido which looked
great fun but we didn’t use because the pool at the hotel was so nice. A short walk from the hotel was Funchal city centre with lots of shops and places to eat and in the opposite direction.a mall. The wonderful ladies on reception were very helpful and booked us on to a number of lovely excursions. I very much hope to visit again. I would highly recommend this hotel if you are planning a trip to Madeira - which you definitely should!
